I don’t have this on CD, but I only have the vinyl of the “Fantasia” soundtrack and it was a 3-LP set released in 1957. This was during that time, Audio Fidelity did put out the world’s first stereophonic LP that same year, but it wasn’t until the next year in 1958. “Fantasia” was the first Disney soundtrack album to be released in stereo. After the success of the soundtrack, stereo albums are all over the place where people who bought an up-to-date stereo system to play your records on. The “Fantasia” LP contains stereo effects since it was originally released as Fantasound, an early example of stereophonic sound. Audio Fidelity on the other hand did pretty well in the very beginning where they started to put out stereo albums known as Stereodisc. That’s why the “Fantasia” soundtrack in stereo really took off.

I'm just loving these Legacy Collection soundtracks. I'm still waiting for Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast to be announced for this lineup, though...

Yes, Disney does love promoting their film's anniversaries. I guess what I meant was: I'm nervous that they will never be released, if these first ones aren't successful (like you said). Beauty and the Beast I'm not to worried about, since it's big 25 will be next year. As for Aladdin, that will have to wait for 2017, and who knows if these Legacy Collections will stick around for that long. The Diamond Edition line for the films themselves has stuck around for an incredibly long time, but I think those are more mainstream then these Legacy Collections. Anyone who enjoys movies, even if they don't know the specifics of the Diamond Edition line, knows that if they see a Disney classic they don't own yet on the store shelf, they should grab it while they can. However, people simply just aren't buying CD's as much these days, due to iTunes, and (especially) free programs like Spotify. If this is true, and this Legacy Collection isn't getting Disney a whole lot of money, let's just hope they remember the $1.4 billion dollar "Frozen" gross and just give us fans what we want...

I really don't have a favorite classic music piece, but I love the animation in the Fantasia movie. My favorite sequence is Night on Bald Mountain, because the demon god Chernabog is so powerful

Hmmm, I'll have to check this out :) My favorite is probably the Nutcracker just because my town has a nutcracker and I'm in it every year and so it's a part of me now.
