Disney Magic Day at Sea: Celebrating The Ship’s 25th Anniversary!

It’s day 3 of our cruise on the Disney Magic and it’s a day at sea! This morning we are going to do something we’ve never done on a Disney cruise before - eat at Palo for brunch. Many people say it’s better than dinner which seems impossible to us because Palo dinner is the best meal at sea. Today we are going to find out! We’ll have some fun around the ship including watching babies race each other in Jack Jack’s Incredible Diaper Dash. We’ll try to go swimming in the adult only Quiet Cove pool but Mother Nature might have other plans. And tonight they are celebrating the Silver Anniversary at Sea, this ship and Disney Cruise Line’s 25th anniversary. We’ll eat at the Beauty and the Beast-themed restaurant Lumière’s before heading to the pool deck to watch the 25th anniversary fireworks show with Mickey and friends. Come with us on this adventure!

18:00 Fun Fact: The medallion that they are giving to the baby is actually the same medallion they gave out to the very first Castaway Kay 5K. This was over 20 years ago on the Disney Magic and I ran the inaugural run. Back then you had to run the 5K and it was timed. It required reservations and it sold out (even though it was free). You had to get up at like 4am to get ready for the run! Now guests do it on their own without any verification so anyone can just say that they did it and grab the rubber medallion which is much nicer than when I got 20 years ago pictured here.

I was on the Magic a few years ago in Europe. I loved it, but our cabin creaked so much! It was like being on an old timey ship 😂. Our steward must have overheard that I was having trouble sleeping bc of it and they gave us a really great bottle of wine (probably to help with sleeping lol)

I find it funny that as a kid and I would watch the disney cruise planning video and I always thought Palo was so expensive and was like wow it must be nice to go there. And now I’m an adult and see it’s only $45 (I think) a person and I’m like oh that’s actually not that bad.
