Edit: I shower and wash everything all of the time, and I have acne sometimes lol. Mine is hormonal though, because birth control completely took my acne away when I was on it. Shane, a liminal space is an area that feels dreamlike, out of the ordinary or in some cases disturbing, scary, or abnormal. They feel strangely familiar, somewhat like you have been there before. Think of a testing map in a video game. Very empty feeling, no people around, some things are experimental. This is what a lot of people would define a liminal space as. But there is one common theme within each and every liminal space--it invokes a sense of nostalgia. This could mean it reminded you of your childhood, going out with friends, etc. Whether it reminds you of a bad memory, a sad memory, a happy memory, or a faded memory just out of reach, they all have the same feeling. A word most commonly accompanied with liminal spaces is Anemoia. Anemoia, in general, is feeling nostalgic for a time you never actually lived through or knew. For example, say you viewed a liminal space that looks JUST like your grandparents house. You could technically reminisce and feel nostalgic for a time.. that you never actually saw. Shane, do a test for me. Look up "Strangely familiar spaces with uncomfortable music" on KZbin, and click on a random video with a similar title. What you'll notice is that the music adds a lot of atmosphere to the liminal spaces. You could add the goofiest music and you probably wouldn't take it very seriously. But the music in these videos all have a similar vibe. Such words to describe it would be: Uncomfortable, Spooky, Nostalgic, Sad, and Depressing. These all describe the music in these videos. So, Shane, That's what a liminal space is, summed up in 3 paragraphs for YOU. Trust me it goes much deeper but these are the most important things to know and it's basic knowledge.
