Disney - Peter Pan - Ride Review - Plus Size & Accessible

Join me we head towards the second star on the right, and straight on till morning to experience the most magical, classic ride at Walt Disney World's #MagicKingdom.
Along the way I will share information you'll need to know in order to enjoy this ride as a #PlusSize person or someone who uses an ECV, wheelchair and I've even got some information for strollers.
#PeterPan is a ride that can be enjoyed by many members of your family -- there are lots of tips in this video to help you know what to expect.

Not sure of your size but I have been able to fit on all but one ride at WDW at 5'4" and up to 390 lbs. I know there are people even larger than me who fit on the majority of Disney rides. I think you'd be surprised how much you can do.

I remember first riding Peter Pan in 1983...when I was 9...I'm 45 now. It is truly a magical ride. My son (13) and I visited in 2017 (his 1st time...my 3rd). He did have a hard time with the moving walk-ways. He has difficulty with anxiety and some sensory triggers. It's really good to know the attendants can slow/stop the walkways on some of the rides. What you do is awesome. I have a friend with MD and I had recommended your channel to him before his visit in March of last year. He is confined to a mobility scooter and was nervous about visiting the park with his 2 small children. They had a great time! Thanks for everything you do!

I would urge you to use your Genie+ Lightening Lane for this ride. The line for it is generally very long -- sometimes more than an hour -- and the ride itself is only about a 1 minute 20 seconds long. It's a short ride but nostalgic and incredibly magical. You must ride it at least once. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Hey Pammie! Christina here. Thank you so much for all of your videos! I’ve loved Disney my whole life, but I had never been to the park until last year. We are about the same hight and size and I have had a big fear of not being able to fit on the rides. Last year I found your channel and it gave me so much peace and confidence. I’m so happy to say that you helped me have a wonderful first trip and gave me so much confidence that Disney could work for me. Thank you for all you do! Going to magic kingdom tomorrow. I have a few questions. I will need to rent a ECV. Do you know if i get there right at 9am should I have a problem with them running out? Is there parking for them outside of everything and can anyone steal them? Thanks for all your help!

ECVs run out early in the morning only during peak times like holiday weekends, 4th of July, and Christmas holidays. You should be good. Cast Members located at the entrance to lines will let you know if you need to transfer to a wheelchair for the queue or if you can ride your EVC through the queue. There are parking areas adjacent to ride queues that do not allow ECVs. If you take your ECV key with you, no one can steal it....although I've never hear of anyone stealing an ECV inside of a park. The Disney ECVs are numbered so you know which is yours. I would not leave any valuables or bags in an unattended ECV.

As a little kid I would panic about getting into the boats from the moving sidewalk. Actually it still makes me nervous just based off childhood memories. I know its silly but I always get a stomach flutter trying to get on. I agree...Peter Pan is charming.

Every time I go to step on the belt I think of the one time when I was a little girl where I slipped and dropped my giant lollipop. Disney gave me a new one but I was so sad to have dropped the one my grandpa bought me ... I still think of it to this day. Isn't it funny the things we remember from childhood?

Great video as always! I was in the parks last week and this video was perfectly timed, as I was nervous about the lap bar. Your tip that it adjusts to the largest rider, took my worries away and I rode it with my husband and son and had a great time! One thing I also wanted to share with you, i noticed this trip that at Epcot in the American Adventure show - the end seat of every other row in the theater all the way down have had the outside armrest removed, making for a much more comfortable seat and no worry in having to ask for special accommodations. Hope that helps if you ever cover that show!

Thank you for your review. I do have a question, I have knee issues, would they be willing to stop the ride for me to get off ? I dont know if I can get up as fast as everyone else.

I have heard a few people say they have slowed or stopped the belt/ride for them but I've been visiting Magic Kingdom since 1971 with close to 700 visits and I have never, ever seen them stop or slow this ride. I suspect if you stop the moving walk way it is tied into the entire ride and the whole ride will have to be stopped -- and because you are suspended in air, they don't want to leave riders literally hanging, so they don't stop it.

galaxyminto I was just down in October 2019 with my elderly mother who has a hard time with moving walkways, as long as I hold tight onto her waist and balance her getting on and off and she is able to do it still at 82.

my favorite! the walkways are hard , getting on is fine. I worry about getting off. As we come round to the front I tell the cast member I might need some help. someone will be waiting to assist me to hold on to the rail! we did late night, walked, on and got off, walked right on several times! fun thanks, as always!

Hi Pammie! Are there any rides at Disney or Universal that you should remove your glasses on? I’m terrified of losing mine on a ride!

They tell you to take off hats and glasses on Big Thunder, but I never have. I take them off on Rock N Roller Coaster because it goes upside down, but most people leave their glasses on for that ride. I think if you wear your glasses king of loose, it's best to remove them.

Hey Pammie, great job as always! Mama Hybrid is slightly smaller than you but has a lot of the same challenges and whenever we go to the park this is easily one of our favorite rides and we always have an absolute blast! I would have to say that most of the rides at The Magic Kingdom, with the exception of Space Mountain, are very plus-size friendly. Our favorite ones have got to be Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Winnie the Pooh, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Little Mermaid and of course you can't forget the classic It's a Small World! We also love the teacups but they're a little less plus size friendly than say the other ones I've listed. Hopefully one of these times we're at the parks will be able to catch up with you and compare notes or maybe even a collab vlog!

Officially, the DAS pass allows a party of 6 people total to ride together. If you have a larger party, please check with guest relations when you are getting your DAS.

This is one of my favorite dark rides, there's nothing like flying around in the dark high above London! But I'm 310 and my partner is 220, and since this ride's vehicle suspends from the ceiling we have a moral fear of it coming crashing to the ground from our more than 500 combined pounds. We can't even enjoy the ride for fear that any moment.... Anyway, I've asked Cast Members what the max weight is on those vehicles and none of them know; they just smile and say I'll be okay. That doesn't help.

Your fear is unfounded. My husband and I have been on this ride dozens upon dozes of times with a combined weight of around 620 lbs. These rides are made with withstand several times more weight than can actually fit on them. They are very safe. There's no max capacity for the ride, probably because it can withstand a thousand pounds or more per vehicle. If you don't want to go on it -- that is your choice but it is safe.
