Back in 2012, I likened this to a big corp buying out a grandam's secret sauce recipe: the big corp takes the overnight success of grandma's sauce, then does all sorts of experimentation with it, adding weird things to "spice it up", driving the old school fans away. Then when they've got their money back from the purchase by milking the old school regular buyers dry, they "suddenly" and "generously" make a public statement about going back to the "original recipe everyone loves". Except, they sell it for a marked up price, and 35% less in every jar - and despite what they say, it doesn't quite taste the same as old grandma's. So far, much of this analogy has come true, except crazy old KK seems to have lost the "promise the return of the old recipe" page of corporate greed!

After having my socks knocked off in '77, suffering through the somnambulant "Prequel Trilogy," and having the pre-chewed, tasteless bubble gum of "Force Awakens" spat into my mouth, I suckered for "Last Jedi" in the theater. Literally, as I walked out into the parking lot I asked my friends, "What the Hell was that?" That was it for me. I'm not subscribing to some service to have mediocre sludge piped into my house. I have my theatrical release OT DVDs and my VHS tapes as backup. Star Wars ended with Luke's redemption of his father. That's it.

I cant see it myself. I have seen the clips and trailers etc...and it looks like utter childish crap. Its got no Star Wars feel to it. And it just feels plain wrong as Star Wars has never really been about a bunch of kids. The closest it ever came was Phantom Menace with a young Vader. Basically you need to dissolve Lucasfilm - fire everyone there - and maybe nuke it from orbit to be sure (or at least go through the office with the heavy flamer). Then hire people who care about the original trilogy, make sure they read the EU, and start mining the EU books (and paying the authors WELL) for stories and start from there. Personally - i think it might be best to stay away from Luke/Han/Leia for a while - maybe go with I, Jedi by Stackpole for a stand-alone movie. Develop the Rogue Squadron books into a TV series and see if you can get anyone interested again. Also, release the orginal trilogy (un Lucased) in the theatres for whatever reason you can come up with.

How does Disney not understand that Star Wars needs a long hiatus. It's always needed time off between entries, even when it was good a long, long time ago. The more they pump out the more I tune out, to the point where even if I hear "watch Andor it's actually good" I don't even care anymore.

I'm reminded of what happened on a smaller scale when the Stargate franchise got sunk by their attempt to go woke, edge, and grimdark with SG Universe. By the time they tried to right the ship and go back to what worked, the audience had checked out. In those days it wasn't so easy to anger your fanbase and pull horrid ratings yet keep running anyway. I don't even want that IP to come back in this current climate, because whether anyone who worked on it then revived the franchise now it would just follow the same example of Trek and Star Wars. Amazon technically has the ability to, but what they've done with LOTR is a perfect example why they shouldn't. The guys who ran it back then talked mad trash to the fans and said they didn't need them to succeed. Then they blamed us when they got canned. SGU really was the prototype for what these other properties have done since, except they've gotten away with it for years.

SGU had some great elements but there were so many bad ideas they had to jettison before they could develop them.

Watching Skeleton Crew with my wife, who hasn’t seen any Star Wars movies/series and we’re enjoying it. It’s like a Goonies version show at the same quality as Andor. Hope they stick the landing with the season finale.

You can't unwoke this franchise. Fans know that even if you get some good episodes early on; eventually you get a woke bait and switch. No one wants Disney Star Wars. As McCoy would say, "It's dead Jim". That is Star Wars under Kennedy, Iger and Disney!

History has a habit of repeating itself.... Skeleton Crew is pretty good....but after alienating your audience because they didn't like The Acolyte...what do you expect? Same thing happened with the Solo movie...after they crapped all over the fan base for not liking The Last Jedi.... Insanity: doing the same thing over and over...expecting different results.

A lot of entertainment as failed only to become cult classics later. The situation right now is that media such as this channel has promoted and revealed the crap that Disney has been pushing since the aquisition. Thats problem # 1 Problem # 2 unless and until KK is gone.... Everyone walked out, even if she is basically a hood ornament. Her name is pure poison and she needs to be gone sooner than later. Until she is gone the healing cannot begin and the fans will not flock back in.
