Disney's "Barry of the Great St. Bernard" Part 1 Season 23 Ep 12

From Season 23 of Walt Disney's Disneyland Anthology program we have Episode 12: Barry of the Great St. Bernard, Part 1, which originally aired January 30th, 1977. High in the Alps a young boy eagerly waits for the birth of a new litter of St. Bernard pups. Martin is an orphan who lives at the Hospice St. Bernard, a travelers' way station run by monks. The lad is assigned to Julius, the kennel leader who will train the puppies to serve as rescue dogs. When the pups arrive, one is more active than the others and is soon Martin's favorite. The boy names the dog Barry and stays close to him throughout the training. Tragedy strikes when Barry and Martin are caught in an avalanche. Starring Jean Claude Dauphin as Martin, Pierre Tabard as Julius, Maurice Teynac as Prior, Pascale Christophe as Simone, Roger Lumont as Dr. Bernay and Sacha Piteoff as Sergeant.
