Yes. They record the songs and play the track in the movie that they lip sync too that way it sounds better because if they sang live it wouldn't sound as good.

they don't sing live in musicals because you have to do multiple takes and it's hard to sing and dance like that and do it perfect every time. Also the greatest musicals of all time they weren't singing live.

SnazzyDiamondHeart lip sync in movies has always been a thing. It's pretty normal if you ask me. I think it's the whole "live" performances where some singers don't actually sing live that make it sketchy to lip sync in like movies when it's just the way these type of movies are done :)
