I feel like ppl who did watch this movie as kids were probably really scared of the visuals with the world ending meteors and the uncanny valley-ness of the dinos. Probably why ppl don't rewatch as adults 😂 always been a huge fan of this movie tho. Great video

Honestly, I'm glad they gave Aladar and the other iguanodons lips despite them actually having beaks instead. Really helps selling the emotions they're trying to convey.

Disney is a company with an unusual talent to use marketing, merchandising and events to make past films relevant, even if they are decades old. Kids under 4 know Disney films from before WW2, and that is wonderful. On the other hand, they don't need to bury a movie if they want it forgotten. They just stop marketing such movie and time itself will bury it. For example, the ride uses film footage yet it makes no effort to reference the existence of the film. And it hasn't been referenced in other material besides a speechless cameo in Once Upon a Studio.

Maybe it's that I was a dinosaur kid, but I was obsessed with this movie, There are a handful of 'good' dino movies so I got a lot of watch time on these, I'm planning to get an Aladar tattoo for my dino-themed arm sleeve. I never considered this movie to be like the new live-action remakes [which is right and I'm mad that you're right) but because I watched dinosaur documentaries religiously as a kid, and there is a common style of filming real scenery and using a combination of puppets and early CGI that added the dinosaurs after in those educational dinosaur movies and tv shows, like Walking with Dinosaurs/beasts, the big al special, Jurassic fight club, ect. And even new documentaries still use this method like Prehistoric Planet and Life on our Planet. i always saw this style as a nod to that to make the movie feel more realistic; almost like a mockumentary. I looked up dinosaur documentaries to fact check my comment, and this movie popped up on the list it could just be blamed on googles ai feature but its still telling; it takes the style of those early dinosaur docs to make a more grounded feeling movie and tells a creative story within that setting. Side note as a kid, was convinced Baylene and Enma were lesbians.
