Disney's Grand Californian Hotel Review and Tour

In this video we will be visiting Disneyland's most expensive hotel, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. We will take you on a tour of a standard guest room, show you the various restaurants, pools, and benefits that come along with staying at the Grand Californian... Including early entry to Disneyland and California Adventure.

My three sisters and I all pitched in to pay for a one-night stay here during Mickey’s Halloween Party. It was worth it to try out for that specific reason. My nephew was under 5 years old, so having that easy access to the park meant we got to enjoy Downtown Disney for a bit, rested up and then got ready for our night at Disneyland. And then at the end it was just a short walk back to our hotel room to crash-that was heaven! The Cadaver Dans came to sing on the 3rd floor balcony for the occasion, which was a fun treat (in-hotel entertainment!). The room is nice, but it’s nothing spectacular. The little Disney touches are cute, but when you boil it down, it is definitely overpriced. Then again, what isn’t these days? So unless you’re wealthy, do as I did and either go with your family (or friends) and split the cost. That’s the only way I could afford (and justify) spending the night there. We live in Los Angeles and have been to Disneyland many times, but we still wanted to have the experience and overall, I’m glad to say I enjoyed it and that it was worth it for the good memories I made.

We just got back and stayed at the Grand CA, club level. We did pay a lot of money for the room. It was just me and my husband. I had surgery 3 months ago so we wanted somewhere close, and we were celebrating our 35 anniversary. We had a wonderful time. We are going back in April and staying at theGrand CA once again.

My wife and I are staying here in the beginning of December! We're so excited! It's definitely expensive, but money comes and goes. If you're able to do it even just once, I say go for it! My good friend is a travel agent for Disney, she helped us with setting EVERYTHING up! From reservations for dinner, Grand CA room, and getting our disney park tickets! We even got a spa in! BUT the best part of doing it thru an agent is the payment plan! Now my wife and I are child-less, however if you plan this a year or 2 out, you can do payments in increments and it won't seem as scary! We payed it off in a few months!! :D and my agent wasn't pushy, she helped us understand everything, and she's still working endlessly for us making sure everything is good to go before we go in a couple of months! So give it a try! Itll be so worth it!

I’ve been to this hotel to eat at the craftsman bar (and loved it!) but I’ve never actually stayed here yet. Such a lovely resort, the lobby is beautiful. Fantastic tour of the room too. So nice it has a couch that turns into a sleeper, and the patio! Nice that they have a gym too. The pool area is so beautiful. I love how close to the parks it is. We won’t stay anywhere else. You’re really paying for the location and amenities that come along with it. You can’t really justify the room vs the price. I also love the way they treat their guests. Their customer service is top notch. We have even made friends with the bell hop. I feel like it would be hard to stay at another hotel. We only visit DL twice a year so that’s how we justify the price.

Admittedly I didn’t stay here, but I went to the pin trading afternoons when I visited back in 2018 🥰 Loved the hotel! It was Christmas when I visited and it looked so magical 🎄Your video is very informative as always, thank you!!

Hey Athena! Like you said it's a fun hotel to visit even when you aren't staying there. Love to take a step away from the busy parks and enjoy the quiet lobby. And at Christmas time it is great because they have that big tree and usually a large Gingerbread house. Thanks for the kind words!

It is certainly the most expensive Hotel but extra magic! You can still get the early entry benefit if you stay at the Disneyland hotel or the Pixar Place Hotel. Or if early entry isn't important to you look for a nearby hotel along Harbor Blvd. Thanks for watching!

Such a beautiful resort! I love the Craftsman style! I would love to stay here with DVC but it’s so hard to get at the 7 month mark-maybe one day! I didn’t realize they had turn down service! Wow. We stayed here the last time we were in DL, prior to the pandemic. We loved it but man, the price to us was really expensive. We are going to stick to the Hilton or Marriotts close by. Still love the hotel. LIKE 14. 👍👍👍

Hi Eric. The perks and convenience of staying at this hotel are nice. I can see splitting the cost and sharing a room. As that price tag is really high. Now, if I win the Lotto, my husband and I always dream about how we would stay there with our winnings. 😂😊😅 The pool water was so pretty and blue. We loved watching your resort and room tour, it did feel like we were there. The biggest perk is the proximity to the parks. When we we stayed there last, we had a very disappointing stay. Dirty rooms, beat up furniture, broken legs on the couch.

We've stayed several times at Disney's Paradise Pier and the Disneyland Hotel, loved all our stays. The Grand Californian Hotel is next on our list of where we'd like to stay. And now that Paradise Pier is getting updated to Pixar Place Hotel, we'll have to stay there as well. 😉

Haha Nice! The rebranding of the Paradise Pier Hotel to Pixar Place is the prefect excuse for a future stay :) And you guys will love the Grand Californian. It is pricey but being so close to the park is amazing. So much so that I'm always keeping an eye out for any special off-season discounts in hope of another stay in the future. Greetings! The hotel is beautiful but way over priced like the majority of Disney hotels in both California and Florida. In comparison I can stay at Universals deluxe Portofino resort which includes early access and a free express pass for everyone in the room for each day of your stay for about $450 or $500 per night …sometimes a bit more. If it was a tad more reasonable I’d consider it but not at $900 a night for the base room . Very nice tour though . Thanks for posting 😎😎😎

Totally understand. The cost adds up fast if you are staying a few nights, so I try to keep an eye out when they have discounts for Disney Visa Card holders or Magic Key Holders. I'm all for splurging every so often for a special occasion, but then in my mind I also like to balance "Do I want one fancy trip or two trips, but not as nice hotel." Thanks for sharing!
