I am really digging the Lorcana streams. Whether draft or constructed or whatever. I would LOVE to see a Lorcana Cube, too. I just like how non-complex it is while still being full of interesting choices. I think the format itself could also solve the whole 'someone is ahead, they'll probably win' dynamic and lack of interaction between players. That's why I think a Cube would work wonders. But even with the more synergistic cube/constructed, I just like how the VAST majority of the cards are so simple. You can have a board FULL of characters, and it not be a mind bending puzzle of triggers and stacks. Sorry for the essay, this is why I don't really leave comments but just wanted to show my support :)

Easy way to tell rarities is to count the "sides" of the icon at the bottom Circle (1) is common Book (2 pages) is uncommon Triangle (3) is rare Diamond (4) is super rare Pentagon/Shell (5) is Legendary

When it comes to locations, if it hasn't already been said, in order to trigger the effects of "when character is here" you are ment to "equip" the land card, like an enchantment, to have the effect on said character

might have to wait a few sets, seeing as there’s just about 106 distinct cards per color. So, if playing 100 card singlton, mono color decks would be basically all identical.

As a new player I am a huge fan of this game and would LOVE to see more content. But I am hoping for silly stuff overall, silly preconstructed decks based around themes (snow white, cats and dogs, Mackey and friends, etc.) And perhaps a fun draft cube (maybe focused around a set theme?)

Jason's point about cards that specifically name other cards, Yugioh (at least when I played it back in the day) had a ton of those. Magic has done that occasionally, but they are usually either tied to a few niche cards designed for Limited or a specific top-down set or Rares that aren't meant to be competitive. The way Lorcana seems to do it though, like with Lamp caring about Jafar or Aladdin, is more closely similar to Magic and creature types. While a card that cares about Goblins is likely to remain relevant for a long time, they occasionally do typal effects around types that appear less regularly, like Detectives, Slivers or Aetherborn. These are, as Maro describes it, Parasitic design, but that doesn't make it bad.

Found myself skipping forward during drafting because i couldnt read neither the flavor nor abilities on the cards and didnt know anything about the game if in similar situation head to around around 48:30. I also wanna comment that even if i was somehow very ingrained im not sure i could recognize cards beyond their pictures for drafting cams and the extra pack seems to really increase drafting time (i mean it took atleast 40 minutes jesus). I dont know if a different setup would be faster or how to make it more entertaining for twitch chat though, maybe tech for a future draft could just throw some of the shown cards in draft cams big in the center so you can get a nice look at all the little things? Though that might also just be an extra burden...honestly could be cool for magic too atleast for a new set. Thanks for all the effort you guys put in!

It looks like currently Huey is the big payoff, but notably, his typeline is 'Storyborn' (ie, he's meant to be the actual Huey from Ducktales 2017) while the other 2 are Dreamborn and just have the 'support' keyword. So it could be that there end up being Storyborn versions of the other two that Tron together.

“So this guy, this is basically a Dalmatian with extra bits” So, Paul, we actually have gotten there with a few cards. Like we usually refer to a 2/2 for 1 ink as a “Goon” because Goons is one of the original cards with that stat line. And when we get a card that’s basically color shifted, we like taking the subtitle of the original card and putting it under the new one. For instance, it’s not uncommon to call the new steel Kida that’s a 2/3 for 2 with bodyguard “Kida- Protective Cub” because the original card in amber was “Simba- Protective Cub”

@@Mordalon IMHO Drafting is the best way to play Magic and at my FLGS a draft was £15 with prize support. But Lorcana boosters are £5 a pop compared to the ~£3.67 or less of MTG so I'd imagine to play a draft would cost significantly more.

And again, there are precon decks so if you just want to play there is no need to engage with anything else beyond that.
