Disney's Paint The Night LED Parade at Hong Kong Disneyland

Using a magic paintbrush and his vivid imagination, Sorcerer Mickey lights up the night with dazzling colors at this preview of “Disney Paint The Night”, the new nighttime spectacular at Hong Kong Disneyland.

The Disneyland Soundsational Parade soundtrack was adapted for Hong Kong Disneyland's "Flights Of Fantasy" daytime parade - lyrics were changed but the body of the soundtrack remained the same. The soundtrack for this parade incorporates the original Electric Light Parade theme song but updated and combined with new themes sung in Cantonese as well as the familiar movie themes associated with each representative float. Actually there is one more float to the new parade but it's being kept secret until the 'official' launch on October 1 2014. This video by Attractions Magazine does not have the full soundtrack. Parade fans should check out the longer versions and hear the Parade Intro as well as the complete soundtrack.

It's about time they re-imagined the Main Street Electrical Parade! I loved it as a kid and now I want to see this one in person, (@ Disneyland)! You can sometimes still see part of the original Electrical Parade at California Adventures or at least you still could last year....

One more comment - all the Parade viewers are holding a new 'toy' product - the Paint The Night paintbrush. This item uses technologies which are interactive with the floats and the dancers' costumes where the paintbrush LEDs will change colour to match the passing float, or the paintbrush can 'command' a dancer's costume to react in the same way as any of the 20+ colour change combinations / patterns that can be selected on the brush. Similar 'toy' items include a Minnie Mouse ears with interactive colour-changing ribbon, and a Mickey Mouse colour-changing interactive glove. The specially-invited Preview audience viewers during this Premiere private preview event all received paintbrushes as gifts.

This wasn't bad. Paint the Night debute at Hong Kong first. In Cali they did a few more improvements. In California they add Frozen float. Added drum and Tinks pixie friends on Peter Pan float. Jellyfish, Nemo and Marlon were add on the Little Mermaid but seaweed dancer and Dolphins were removed. Jessie and Green Aliens were added on Toy Story. Toy ball was removed. Cinderella and Rapunzel were added on Beauty and the Beast but removed male performers and a couple of candle stands. Too bad after September 5th 2016 the parade is going to be removed :(But it will make its returns for special events.

I hope they make a different one for Disneyland cause this is great and all but it is pretty much the night time version of Soundsational. It is the same style of music and even has a Mickey Mouse club part. So I do hope Disneyland gets a nightime parade but more of a modern version of the Electrical parade. Even after watching this I still think that is Disney's best time parade. Nothing has caputured its magic.

It's a Zone Stop. Similar to Happiness is Here in Tokyo or Move It, Shake it, Celebrate it WDW where the crowd is encouraged to join in dancing with their LED Paint Brushes and Glo with Show Ears. Some of the performers also interact with the crowed too.
