When I saw Walt Disney's Pinocchio at age 7, I had read books-including more than one version of Pinocchio. It was the 1962 re-release that Mom and Dad took my younger brother and I to see. I liked the movie fine, and I recognized Jiminy Cricket.(I'd already seen him in more than one Walt Disney TV show.)I saw Walt Disney's Pinocchio as just that-WALT DISNEY'S Pinocchio. From my Gramma I got an old 1914 edition of Pinocchio which I treasure to this day as the real story of Pinocchio.:-)

Worst of all is that 2 day old Pinocchio probably thinks that all of his problems can be solved with fire.

I’m so glad someone else agreed that Jiminy needs to get checked. Dude would literally give up the moment Pinokes gave into temptation and would get mad when Pinokes didn’t know the difference between right and wrong. Like he was literally born a day ago, what did you expect?

So Pinocchio has no conscience? There's a word for that. And he says a talking cricket is his moral compass? There's a word for that, too.

It's easily one of Walt's best projects from the golden era of the studio's animated musicals. When it was being made there was a ton of pressure on Disney's team because they wondered if audiences and critics might consider the previous film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" to be just a one time brilliant thing. Well, this was an interesting synopsis video you made here. Would have been good if there had been the slightest hint of respect or appreciation somewhere here-- but I guess that's quickly becoming obsolete today.

I saw the 1940 version (a rerelease in theaters in the 70s) and it FREAKED ME OUT! To this day, I tend to avoid the film. I later read that the original story was written by a man who HATED children! Makes so much sense in hindsight!
