After seeing this guide, I definitely knew that I discovered most of these tricks on my own. Even when reaching top 10% as well as really using the drift mechanic a lot. But hey at least got to know some more tips on the stuff I didn't knew that even I was shocked when someone as Gaston kept up when they used those methods. Will help me a bit more with my weak steering characters indefinitely. Better share this to my friends so they can finally catch up to me. Cause it can really get boring when they aren't catching to be honest. Ya know I bet if there were videos on Disney Speedstorm like making a custom lobby that its a test of pure driving skill, that would be great. No bashing, no skill object to aid and sabotage, all pure driving. Saw that when I was a CTR Nitro Fueled Racer back in my day that they did that and it was epic that every player kept up to each other in the group that no one was ever left behind.

Super great tutorial CheeQu however can you please make a specific video on how to do outwards drifting cause I don’t quite get it, when I do it I loose all of my speed and I can’t keep a straight line. It looks super useful, I want to know 😊

10:33 If I understand correctly, outward drifting doesn't reduce speed when manual boost is active, but it does reduce speed from Rush, speed pads, landed stance, and the speed you keep after manual boost runs out.

While drifting, any speed above your current tier of top speed is almost instantly lost. Example 1: Manual boost is active which means "Tier 3" top speed is active. Lets say that is 200 kph. Rush gets you at lets say 300 kph (made up numbers). That is above your tier 3 top speed so if you use rush while drifting you almost instantly lose that extra 100 kph.

Example 2: Manual boost runs out, so you go from tier 3 top speed (200) to tier 1 (80). If you are drifting you lose that extra 120 top speed almost instantly.

speed pads and stunts dont provide speed instantly, rather they unlock tier 2 top speed if tier 1 top speed was active beforehand. Or they extend the duration of tier 3 top speed if that was active beforehand.

My biggest problem is that I lose frames a lot of times when I go to release a drift boost and so instead I end up not getting a speed increase or fill my boost meter but I just lose my drift boost instead. But I had a realization during that Hades event about holding a drift boost if my boost was already full from driving over a boost pad. But I still couldn't go a whole lap on one boost but I was able to keep boost through more sections that way. That tip about starting drift before jumps though, genius.

7:10 About staying on the Racing Line, isn't it better to do really tight turns to minimize the distance traveled? Especially if you keep turning in the same direction (such as Arbee's Arena).

What you said can be true, however it depends on how good the handling of your character is. If the handling stat is very very high, you barely lose speed while turning, so minimizing distance travel is best. If handling stat is low, wider racing lines can be faster

Neutral is slower. the more "outwards" your drift is, the faster it is
