Disney Springs Boathouse Restaurant & Amphicar Tour 2021 - RARE Vintage Cars that Drive in Water!

Join me for a wonderful lunch at The Boathouse Restaurant in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World as we sit out on the dock by the water and try oysters, steak and desert and learn all sorts of fun facts about The Boathouse! After lunch we are treated to an incredible Amphicar ride around Lake Buena Vista - the waterway within and around Disney Springs! Amphicars are extremely rare amphibious vehicles that can drive ON LAND AND IN THE WATER - they're both a boat and a car - and we get to experience an Amphicar LAUNCH and tour! Not many still exist in working order and The Boathouse has a fleet of 8 that guests can tour the Disney Springs waters in! The best part is making a splash right as you literally DRIVE INTO THE WATER IN A CAR!! I share some fun facts and history about the amphicars with you as we enjoy a scenic ride on a beautiful sunny day nearing sunset! I like your sweatshirt and that is cute. I like that you got a chance to eat out on the water and the day looks wonderful there. What a cute can. That looked like a good meal. I like creme brûlée. I am not sure if I would ride that car. Fun Fact. President Lyndon B Johnson had one of those cars, he loved to not tell people while driving them around his big Tx ranch and then drive into the water. Scared the bejeebs out of folks. They also have a few of these cars in Branson now, or they did. Not sure they will last because of the tragedy there a few years back. Good job catching the birds on camera. Can't wait until the next adventure. Oh by the way, Happy New Year.

I had the same steak at The Boathouse in 2019, but got it with branase sauce and a side of coconut shrimp. All was very good.

That Florida Avenue can is pretty cool. Filet mignon is the best steak cut one can I have, I'm a fan of the one at Le Cellier. I love crema catalana, which is very similar to crème brûlée, it is the Catalan version. It is actually older than the crème brûlée by three centuries. And you're right, anything in a mason jar is good! The Amphicar, what an experience. Gives me Havana vibes because it's just like the cars you see over there. Great day for it too. Glad you finally did it.

Glad you had fun. Around 1967 I was swimming at a lake in New Hampshire when I saw one of these go down the boat ramp into the lake. I was so shocked! I thought it was a car that was going to sink! It's so cool that they have these in Orlando at Disney Springs. Just another unique experience they offer.

Boathouse should feel very proud of your presentation, Great Job!!! Thank you for saying how the ride feels, I have been afraid that it would be very choppy and being so close to the water would be scary. But, might think about trying it now. I would love to be able to sit in one of the boats to eat. We have been twice (out of my four visits to Disney Springs, LOL) and just sit at the bar inside. Plus, I didn't realize that was a museum of boats!! So cool!!

The dock area was originally built for the boat rentals when that was around in the 90s. It was nice I miss it though. It wasn’t that expensive at thirty an hour although you ended tangled up in the weeds most of the time and you have to get rescued with the Disney patrol boats. It was just simple fun on the lake. I think it was gotten rid of due to the weeds and the car was put in. The boathouse didn’t exist back then as that building was just a shed for boat storage.
