This game is crazy I’ve spent so many hours in it. I play on console but it really stretches your creative mind. I usually have what I want to do in my head but most of the building is just winging it so it usually takes me a while to finish my builds. Working on one more OG planet coaster build hoping to be done before planet coaster 2 comes out.

The firehouse at WDW's Magic Kingdom is, of course, inspired by the original firehouse at Disneyland, and that room with the balcony over the main door at Disneyland was, in fact, Walt's personal apartment at the park where he stayed overnight a lot during construction and whenever visiting the park for an extended period. Later, they built a more spacious family apartment upstairs over the entrance to Pirates of the Caribbean when it and New Orleans Square were added--that was eventually changed into a gallery for Imagineering artworks and a VIP balcony viewing spot for Fantasmic!, the nighttime river/pyro/laser/character show across the way. But when you place that balcony, you're building Walt Disney's "house" at the park, so a lot of tradition goes on--btw, a light in the window is lit nowadays to say that Walt, at least in spirit, is always in residence.

I was hoping you'd pop by with some awesome history :D You did not disappoint! I'll add a light in the window ;)

This park design screams Disney with the design style you have put into this.

Yeah, It's very Disney inspired, some parts more than others :)

Kinda gets boring to always be impressed. But I just love how you use pieces in a complete not "as intended" way (if you can say that in a sandbox game...). Also nice that you tell where you have some of your ideas from. I just did not understand the part where there was said soemthing about a "series about theme park design". Where is that going to be?
@Geekism8 жыл бұрын
Haha! Sorry I'm boring you :P The series will be here, on this channel, but its a milestone on our patreon page, so hopefully if we get to it, we'll be able to make the series :)

That bay window gave me ants in the pants. There's no bottom to it, but it's at an angle that will never ever be seen, by viewer or park guest alike, and yet, it gives me an itch I can't scratch :P Beside that, another great job, your ability to think laterally still impresses me: those hinges are actually lamps :O
@dlfendel28448 жыл бұрын
I noticed that too, and figured some planters below would "close" that gap nicely--plus being on the street like that it wouldn't be bad to have it just "extend" to the sidewalk rather than be hanging on the bottom edge.
@Geekism8 жыл бұрын
Haha! I didn't think it would be a problem... as already the park is starting to slow down in framerate, every polygon counts! Although I like Dan's idea of flower boxes to 'finish' it off

I just tried to make a shop with a bay window yesterday, a Dickensian shopfront, and wasn't entirely happy with it. Your version looks way better, so I may just go in and revisit mine.

I think it needs a little more detail at the bottom, but overall it's pretty good :)

Very nice! I love main street buildings and how people use the items to create them. Still getting the hang of building creation myself but practice makes perfect. Nice video!

I'm becoming a bit obsessed with Main Street buildings. Love how much variation you can get in them :) Thanks!

They really are! Very useful! I love how the developers make the stuff generic/editable enough to have multiple uses like that

Another great video! I wonder if we ever will be able to cut pieces. It would help save polygons and of course the build in general. Take the gigantic spire you used for "window roof". If you could just cut ("trim") off the unused parts after placing it.
@Geekism7 жыл бұрын
Thanks :) Yeah, that would be super useful. I can't see it happening though :(

DigDug sent me! that looks amazing. im trying to build a disneyland style theme park in roblox Theme park tycoon 2, and there is nowhere near enough props and shapes to make it look good :(

+chris h Awesome! Welcome :) Never played that but it's kinda the reason I moved from Parkitect to this, the options it gives you are much broader :)

I'd love to get planet coaster, because it looks amazing and is a stand alone game, and there are way more options for what you can do, but I think it might kill my laptop😂

Love your work. You always struggle with the name of what "those American flags are". They are called patriotic bunting, or pleated fans. =]
