Rarely stay there but love fort wilderness. CC is our home, but we usually stay Boulder Ridge split stay with BLT. In addition to dues another cost is golf cart. We usually get a golf cart for at least part of stay which is a huge expense. One of very best places to spend Thanksgiving and cruise the Christmas decorations.

I have a feeling that Disney does not care whatsoever how many points they sell of the new Cabins. The high dues reflect the added insurance and maintenance cost with them being mobile, and they are also going to act as a huge deterrent for many sales, add-on or new members. Being a deluxe resort now, they can charge a little more per night now, people who have always booked there during the holidays they love can still book there with cash, probably easier than current members will be able to at 7 months, and they get the extended hours benefits. If Disney gets a few people to buy, even with the high dues, great, if they don't sell many, no big deal to them.

I would much rather rent an RV. I own 360 pts at Saratoga Springs. If I’m thinking about staying, they deliver the RV set it up and have pretty much the same atmosphere without having a 12 dollar fee per point. Try renting the RV one time. If you’re thinking on buying in figure out the weekly rental times what you pay and dues.

Big Fort Wilderness family here and have had zero advertising of the cabins. The only info I’ve gotten is from you guys. I love the cabins and would consider buying there but the dues are incredibly off putting. There’s not enough convenience, proximity or amenities draw. Throw in a golf cart!
@yankeesusa110 ай бұрын
Agreed, include a golf cart with the dues and then it may be worth it.

Im pro food trucks, at least they have fryers unlike Big River. Big River was so bad. I dont understand how Disney gets these logistics so wrong all the time for the time that things open or close and how no one checks in on some of these places when litterally no one is having good experiences ala Big River. Please bring in a legit brewery and better food for that boardwalk slot. It feels like Disney is trying to turn the boardwalk into the next value resort with all of these decisions. Please get it it together.

The draw of DVC to me is access to deluxe resorts at lower prices, personally I have no interest in the cabins or even future moderate resorts that may get DVC

Jeff has a great take as the point chart is very reasonable. Therefore you need less points a 1 bedroom at RR or Gf is about doubled.

Wow. Who knew Jeff and I thought so much alike. My last trip to WDW (2022), I think only I and my husband were at the Country Bears Jamboree. What is it about Disney taking decades to finishing anything.
@mallon0400811 ай бұрын
I think DVC is 100% okay with not having Aulani sell out. I can think of two reasons. The first is that is the only Resort in Hawaii so if someone wants DVC in Hawaii,they have inventory to sell. The second and I think more important reason is it benefits them to always have direct points in inventory that do not have resale restrictions
@vickycroft462111 ай бұрын
My parents camped the USA. Couldn't talk them in to camping at Disney. They were Coast to Coast Members & camped for $1.00 a night. 🇺🇸 ❤😊 We may try there but for only a few nights. We enjoy the action like Bay Lake Tower, Poly. 🎉Most people who camp have their own RV.

I think the points cost will be the lowest by a long shot before long if not initially. I think this is more about flipping operating cost off Disney to DVC owners. The one time upfront cost is of course there but this is more about passing on the long term cost of this property while reserving some cabins for cash. I would think this could sell under 200 per point.

I think with the Cabins, the price point may be good. ?? The dues mentioned are ridiculous!! And the problem is the Cabins will give you a selection of 1 bedroom only?? Which means you will be limited to 1 bedroom point levels to stay there. I love the Campground. but you will have to rely on long bus waits or having your own transportation. No to mention, it is not really convenient to access resort amenities, as opposed to Deluxe resorts,
@justinbaker288311 ай бұрын
Red hot deal feature seems a lil off. If contracts are being sold 10% off the "market value" isn't that 10% off the actual market value? Is this a way to protect prices falling by 15% or whatever the real value is?

The guides that sell points to the cabins may be held criminally liable, because any person buying a time share in a trailer park does not have the mental capacity to enter into a legally binding contract. On top of that the dues are predatory.

I would assume the dues are higher due to the forseen damage SOME of the pets may cause to the upholstery and carpet. Or will they be taking a security deposit?

So I am a Fort Wilderness camper. Never stayed in a cabin as I always bring my RV. Since they have recently added Campsites to use DVC points(last few yrs) I am wondering if you would have any benefit to use a campsite. Like in the booking window as campsites are very hard to get.
@yankeesusa110 ай бұрын
Campsites are only hard to get if you wait the month of or a few months out and if it's during holidays. Otherwise we've never had an issue

You guys talk like a bunch of cities slickers. If you love, Wisconsin, Dells or the Ozarks, you’ll love Fort wilderness. If you drive an F150 and have a membership at a bass pro shop you’ll love Fort wilderness. You can rent a boat and go fishing or go horseback riding and rent a golf cart at Fort wilderness. Fantastic. Some people like “Green Acres” because the land spreads out so far and wide. Also, you’re a short ferry ride to Magic Kingdom. I’ll take that any day of the week, then staying at the Polynesian.
