As a Lady Tremaine main I think it was a really good video. Just a few things that was left out that could be good to know. The only cards that can ever be in the Ballroom are The Prince and the Ball Gown cards. Invitation From the King: When played, it finds the Prince too. Midnight: If Ball Gown Cinderella is out you shouldn't wait to play this since both Midnight and Ball Gown when defeated effect brings out the Glass Slippers The Glass Slippers: They cover actions like Heroes. You might have decided not to include some more advanced strategies like using I Never Go Back on My Word to pair up a bad fate card with the Prince or that using Vicious Practical Jokes to play a Hero to Lucifer's loction so their ability cannot be used. Or using VPJ to play Jaq to a Slippers location, discarding it.

You are correct. I did leave out some advanced stuff. I plan on making a separate series later that will cover advanced strategies like you said. You are also correct about the cards that can and cannot go in the ballroom and the Prince is automatically played with the invitation. Most of the basic stuff I leave out is covered in the villain guide that comes with that game. However, your suggestion on using Jaq to remove Glass Slippers is interesting as LT cannot dictate what the Fator can do with the card's actions. She can only determine which card to play and where. The Fator will determine what items to discard, so that will have to played very carefully. Another point I can discuss in the advanced strategies series. Thanks again for your insight. Aw, I was kinda expecting a "We don't talk about Bruno" joke when got to his card. Anyway, I think a good change would be to have Lucifer the only Ally that can defeat heroes(except for the Cinderellas), so that way you don't have to keep using Midnight and get constantly screwed over by those slippers

Maybe, but since you can lock heroes away, I guess it all balances out. Also, we don’t talk about “We Don’t Talk about Bruno.” 😊

At first I was kinda confused why you recommended playing the items immediately, but your strategy of having all items and Lucifer at the Music room is a surprisingly effective strategy I’m surprised I hadn’t thought of before or heard from anyone else.

this is so neat! i like this video. you have an engaging bit with lucifer and explain all of the moves and such in the game well. video editing is near professional and color theory is on point! however, why this game? though other more popular games have been covered more, i’d suggest tackling them too just because they’re popular! personally, i’d watch if you posted something about nintendo games. i’m not your entire audience, however, so don’t pay too much mind to me.

Thanks for the comment!! The main reason for covering this game is I play it a lot and there aren’t many great guides for it in KZbin Land right now, so I wanted to make some with my own little spin on it. Once I finish this series, I plan on doing other stuff.

Lady Tremaine is one that works really well for me. Very defensive and hard to stop from doing what she needs to.

@@theabsentfriend4002 Very true. Trick is to fate and make sure opponents can't win until you get going. Luckily she has a lot of defensive tools to prevent fating her effectively.

One sneaky thing with vicious practical jokes is that you can even choose a card that has no valid target, essentially getting away totally fate free.

Or … you could choose Sweet Nightingale and move the daughters into the ballroom

@@theabsentfriend4002 I don't know from where you have got that information. As far as I know, if you use VPJ to pick an effect, the fater is the one resolving the effect. So if LT picks Sweet Nightinggale, the fater chooses the ally and where to move it.

@@HTSirohn My initial understanding was from reading the text of the card: “… you pick which card is played and where.” To me, that suggested I got to play the fate card fully. After reading the clarifications on the villainous wiki, I can see that card only lets me pick which card to play and it’s a hero, I get to place it in the realm, but that’s it. Seems like that contradicts what the condition card’s intention is, but I’m willing to concede if there is some kind of official clarification from the creators.

I thought the hero’s abilities must be resolved before the villain’s ally’s takes the effect, but Lucifer is played differently or am I just misunderstanding? I’m confused because then say for malicifant she could protect her forest of thornes from hero’s buy putting a dreamless night card there too which could effectively keep them from that location by reducing their strength by 2 before they are played.

That’s an interesting theory, however … Heroes must be played to the location before any abilities can be resolved. So if a hero is played to Lucifer’s location, they will be trapped before they can do anything else. Same with Maleficent, heroes are at full strength when played to a location, so they would dispel the forest of thorns first, then dreamless sleep would reduce their strength.

I need clarification on Ball Gown Cinderella. When ball gown Cinderella is played. Are Lady Tremaine’s allies moved and both slippers must be played too?

BGC only keeps Allies from entering the ballroom. If they are already there, this card won’t move them. Only “Sing Sweet Nightingale” can do that. As for the slippers, they appear when BGC is defeated.
