Disney World's BRAND NEW Hotel -- Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

We bought Poly points relatively cheap in 2017. Now we finally have 1 and 2 bedroom choices! I love the look of the tower and can’t wait to spend our DVC points there.

Hour later check in, hour earlier check out. Less staff. Disney: “energy efficient! Sustainable!” Nah, just cheap. Do better than a 4 pm check in for a $5k/night room. If it takes 6 hours to turn a room around you need more staff.

That’s what I came here for. The 10 am checkout. Our rooms are already “ready AROUND 4pm” which is later than cash paying guests and times that I have been many weren’t ready until after 5 pm. Now with a 10 am checkout, that totals 2+ hours less in the room in a 24 hr period. Sounds like punishment for being DVC. And don’t bother trying to excuse it by saying “how long it takes to clean these rooms”. How about hire adequate staff to clean them timely instead. This is not okay.

DVC check-out is 11am. I have a DVC stay booked later this year and confirmed check-in is 4pm and check-out is 11am.

I booked here and scored a GREAT price under their early 2025 discount. Watched videos on the resort and promptly rebooked at the regular Polly. I feel like that was the BEST choice

I must say your videos are the best.. you describe everything to a tee. You don’t have to show yourself like pretty much other people do.. you get to the bottom of everything everyone wants to know about a certain place you’re great at your job.. It’s a theme park, the Marriot isn’t a theme…They could’ve nailed it with rainbow glass,pink sands, swirled balconies,Polynesian art on the brickwork, tall palms and hibiscus themed pools and smells of the pacific…Who would’ve needed the islands..ok imagineers,get to work, love the Polynesian

The price tag is frankly ridiculous, and it's just another island-themed hotel you could see in any other tropical setting, just with some Moana sprinkled in. If I was going to spend that kind of money I would much rather stay in a room at the Poly than Island Tower.

I can’t believe the negative comments. This place looks INCREDIBLE! Can you imagine a day at MK, walking back to hit the pool, then walking back for fireworks? This place isn’t over the top Disney themed but it’s beautiful.

That's the point. This isn't a moderately priced hotel, which I would excuse. This is their premium, lakefront, on the monorail line, overlooking magic kingdom with fireworks views resort and they are charging top dollar for it. Yet the exterior "theming" looks like a Holiday Inn. It just looks to me like they just wanted to capitalize on the location, charge top dollar and build as many units as possible for a "moderate" construction cost giving little regard for the immersive architectural theming that Disney is known for. Look how immersive the architectural theming is done for the rest of the resorts around the monorail line.

Location location location. I've traveled the US by vehicle and can tell you if you're in the middle of nowhere the rooms are much cheaper than when you're staying in a city or resort area.

I don’t hate the look of the tower but it seems wildly inconsistent with the rest of the resort. I think saying it looks like a mildly themed Marriott is a fair critique. I don’t think Disney brought their A game in the architecture and imagineering which is a bit of a disappointment. Shouldn’t affect the function of the place but would be nice to feel a bit more transported.

We only paid around $350/night for out weeknights stay in May 2025. Way cheaper than the regular Poly...I've been wanting to stay at Poly resort forever but could never afford over $800/night during off season times and much much higher during prime times... I'm giddy that they finally built affordable options here.

For a Penthouse, at full rack rate (no discount), at medium or high season. Prices start at 550 plus discount for normal rooms.

Why get robbed to stay here when the highways are littered with hotels just like this for a fraction of the price. Aside from the blight it is on the atmosphere and skyline of the area, it is the most obvious target for the more money than brains crowd who are too clueless to grasp how little they get for what they pay.

I haven’t been there. I also like to make up my own decision and don’t usually go off what others say. Just based on tours and videos and having stayed at Poly it seems a little bland. More like a modern upscale hotel you can stay at everywhere. I’ll make a final decision after visiting in the future.

@@ryukagesama Right. And that is OK. If the entire world is turning to corporate homogeny for their hotels, then Disney is where the theming should take the classic themes and run with them. That is what made Disney special. The Floridian doesn't look like generic corporate Florida hotels today either. Again that was supposed to be the point. But Disney is systematically reducing the theming, services and emersion to increase corporate profits...because they know they can. Typical modern, short term, profit driven management style. Not what Walt had in mind.
