I think the sponsor for Carousel of Progress was G.E., not GM.

I get the bragging rights of being able to say I saw the Yeti when he still moved. I rode Expedition Everest in April of 2006 and got to see him in full form, it was really cool!

I think the little girl in the Carousel of Progress was a foster kid.

I love these theming videos. I didn't know any of these beforehand. Thank you. Also, Fry looks super cute. 😊

Sage is onto something with the Carousel... maybe it's Carol Anne from Poltergeist! Fun video!

I was not aware of the Carousel Of Progress story. Interesting observations about it.

I have thought about the Carousel of Progress daughter for years… it always bothered me!

According to Jim Korkis who spoke on Lou Mongello’s podcast talking about the history of the Carousel of Progress, Jim says that the “official Disney answer” is that the little girl has grown up. He goes on to say that the girl is a stand in because it was originally supposed to be the son but the son got moved to another scene.

I heard at one time that “back in the day”, dolls were placed in windows where children lived so that if there was a fire, people would know to make sure the children were out of the house.

I'm sure they'll never fix the yeti but I feel like it would be worth it if they did. Expedition Everest is a popular ride and I feel like a lot of people would come to see it in full working order. At least I would lol

Small correction: Carousel of Progress was sponsored by GE(General Electric) not GM. The end was the refrigerator of the future which was avocado green with an ice maker on the outside. It was supposed to be futuristic. For me it became old when we got one. lol.

maybe the big thunder one could be that they’re celebrating the water? bc it’s in the desert so they don’t usually get rain so the geyser erupting is good for them

Alternate title "Things that make you go hmmmmm". I'm going to have to start paying closer attention to Cynthia. I knew she was there from the AllEars videos but I don't think I've ever actually looked at her. She evidently not only moves but is able to change her voice and Sage brings out the worst in her. I've also never noticed the guy in the bathtub on BTM. Although, it seems there was some fun had (10 times hats off Editor). I have seen the puppet on ToT in different spots when I ride the ride. I think there is a little imp in the DW CM's.

I'm really confused how the George thing is still going around because there are no records of anyone dying at all within the constrution of Pirates.

I'd be curious to know who the first cast member was who created the nonsense. Edit: To that end, I wonder if that cast member knows their nonsense is perpetuated. If you were a cast member in the 1970s, say, you wouldn't think to Google a story you created on a whim.

Fry, are the deets for that outfit on AllEarsStyle yet because that outfit is CUTE

I worked at Pirates in the mid 90s and we heard all of the George stories. When the water is fairly still at the bottom of the hill you can see shadows that look like legs dangling. Also in a lower point out of public view, George wrote a message on a beam that cannot be erased. Finally, he didn’t die on Disney property because he wasn’t declared dead until he was off property, supposedly.

It's hard to take sage seriously when all keep hearing is Yogi Bear saying "Howdy Mr. Ranger".
@Hard_Boiled_Entertainment Жыл бұрын
I mean...I've always thought it was just each scene in Carousel Of Progress is about a different generation--the son in the first scene is the dad in the second scene, etc. So the little girl isn't "missing," per se--the first family just has two daughters, while the second family onward has one.
@vincent412l7 Жыл бұрын
The scenes are about 20 years apart (starting in the '00s, 20s, 40s, future (60s)), the characters age about that.

Does a possessed ventriloquist doll haunt the basement of the Tower of Terror? Does a ghost named George haunt Pirates of the Caribbean? For now, these questions and more will remain... unsolved.
