I think while you make a good point for Disney to be the overall decade winner, but I think Universal Orlando made such a name for themselves this past decade, as it currently rivals Disney, whereas before it was in the same league as all the other smaller amusement parks in Orlando, like Seaworld and Lego Land

Yes 100%. It was Disney and then the others. Now it’s Disney, Universal and then the others. They’ve done amazingly this last decade and I really think Epic Universe will be a gamechanger for them!

I feel like it's almost unfair for the amount of space universal has to work with vs how big the entire Disney world is. But the fact that universal is kicking Disney's ass for how small it is, it just makes me wonder how things will go when Universal creates their new resort

I don’t think we know yet. The land they have bought gives them plenty of flexibility for another park. So there’s definitely forward planning for a 4th theme park in Orlando - whether that will happen though is another story. Plus, it’s worth remembering universal also has their new resort in Beijing which has a ton of room for expansion too. It’ll be interesting to see if they focus on the US market or international going forward.

Interesting. See I always think Disney is more innovative even though I enjoy the Universal and Disney parks equally. Universal seems very transfixed with screens! Disney is still developing new animatronics, and ride system combinations like with Rise of the Resistance.

@@IndependentGuides seems like disney is moving more towards screens while universal is moving towards sets. especially true in cali with disney’s new spider-man video game ride while Secret life of pets is surprisingly fun. Universal orlando also got hagrids and VC in 3 years

@@IndependentGuides It’s too much on kids ride and some parks feel empty. They barely have thrill rides or big roller coasters. I went to Hollywood Studios and could have left at noon compared to Island of Adventure where from opening to closing wasn’t enough. I think for adults Universal is way better and Disney for kids

Universal. Wizarding World alone. The Hogwarts express connects both of it's parks as an experience and actual transit. That is just amazing. Throw in Volcano Bay and it's a wrap.

Disney is the better park. Unfortunately because management continually keeps shiting on longtime fans we are now a universal family. It will take one hell of an apology for Disney to get another dime of my money. Plus I can still smoke at universal.

Just visit both 3 parks this second week of May 2022, the conclusion: no.1)Disneyland Park, no.2)DCA, no.3)Universal Studio Hollywood, we would like Universal to be the winner but all 3 of us said Disneyland no.1 overall winner. The whole environment in Disneyland and DCA are all as Disneylike as possible, most of the guests fully dressed up as Disney characters including StarWars and Marvel's, while in Universal not many dressed up as Universal characters. Disneyland more classic than DCA imo.

I enjoy Disney more than Universal but I think Universal could become more popular than Disney. Ever since Bob Chapek became CEO of Disney, the parks became more expensive and the new experiences are cheap. Bob Chapek does not seem to be afraid of Universal becoming the superior resort which I think is the problem. Disney needs a new CEO who will compete with universal.

To be honest I say Universal definitely won because Disney is more for kids and for me I say the roller coasters are pretty boring but since Universal has more fun, bigger, and thrilling rides especially Hulk and Jurassic Park, I would go there for sure

Personally, I love Disney and feel like it has more variety of rides and better theming. Universal is good but fast passes are so expensive and in my opinion, the parks feels underwhelming. I do enjoy going to Universal and the one in Florida is much better than the one in Hollywood, but Disney is so special to me ❤

I just went to Orlando back in June 2022 and for the week, I stayed down there and out of that whole week I had, I only stayed at one of Universal's hotels and most of the time at Universal. I did have a park reservation for Epcot and that was so I could ride the new Guardians of the galaxy coaster. At rope drop. I was able to ride both Ratatouille and Guardians a couple of times in the first hour of opening without needing Genie plus. But after that. It got so crowed I just had to leave the park after being there for less the 2 hours after opening. It's was just AWFUL!!! And mind you, this was on a Wednesday. I did come later in the evening to watch Harmonious. My advice to you. avoid Disney like the plaque right now. It's just way, way, waaaaaaaaaaay over crowded right now. Universal is a lot less crowded, even on the weekends.

We just went to Universal Yesterday and saw both parks. I much prefer Disney based on their organization. There are no questions or stress involved with boarding a ride, where to put your stuff, and entering the park. Universal was overloaded with people in Harry Potter parts of the park. Their organization with the lockers, lines, and devoting people to make sure you know where to go is far less than Disney. It is stressful finding the line and getting on a ride. I saw 2 or 3 time as many families cracking from the stress and crying or yelling at Universal compared to Disney. Overall, I was most disappointed that there were so many people jammed into the Harry Potter portion in Island of Adventure I could not enjoy it at all. I was able to get a good look at Diagon Alley and it was impressive. However, Disney’s Star Wars portion is clearly more detailed from top to bottom and was larger/ more enjoyable so it could fit more people. We had fun at Universal but see no reason to return for atleast a decade. We like Disney. That’s 1 less person in line in front of you at the lockers and in the rides. You are welcome.

That’s fair enough. I agree with your locker point. It is really annoying. Especially as the regular sized lockers are no longer free. Disney seems to allow you on board with things on all rides so there’s definitely a way to do it. And yeah Disney by it’s pure size will always have more new things with each visit. Whereas with universal it might just be an extra one or two so for most people the extra expense isn’t worth it. Epic Universe though should bring loads of new things!

Disney has gone in a direction that our Family is not comfortable with at all. They have gotten away from the creative and into the political and social arenas which is upsetting. We have gone to Disney with our Family and friends for decades now, but have not gone back since the pandemic. We heard and saw all the political and social stuff happening from Disney and then read and watched online shows that talked about how bad the service was after it reopened. One family told us a very upsetting story about two workers who were working in the Cheshire Cat stand complaining out loud how they would rather be working back in the hotels because “these people” are so needy and picky. I guess they moved a lot of the workers who were cleaning the hotels into the Parks because the hotel they worked at was closed during the pandemic. Another family told us how at Epcot they were on line to get a margarita and when it was there turn to place an order the young women behind the stand yells out “next!”. Everyone just looked at each other for a split second because they had never seen anyone to that before and before they knew it she yelled out “I said next” in a very disrespectful and condescending way. If things don’t turn around will just give our money to Universal. We went to Disney to forget about our daily grinds not to be involved in political or social agenda fighting.

Universal had classic rides and more memories for me. Favorite thing about Disney was MGM studios which reminded me of universal a lot
