Yes please do a Little Mermaid on Broadway video! It’s especially funny cuz Norm Lewis and Sierra B (cannot spell her name sorry!) were Triton and Ariel but then they were Christine and Phantom. No wonder she thought the Phantom was her father 🤣🤣🤣

I loved the little “no” when you talked about the pictures of celebrities in different character costumes because *I* remember them VIVIDLY. It was one of the first things that sparked my interest in the parks. Not entirely sure why, but I thought they were cool and got me thinking about Disney.

Ursula’s costume on Broadway is still, to this day, one of my favorite Broadway costumes. Especially with the huge tentacle skirt, when she appears later and they’re smaller and closer to the body which work, but the drama of the huge tentacle train during poor unfortunate souls is just incredible

The Disney Dream Portraits were all over LA when I first moved. They were gorgeous. I still absolutely love them. The David Beckham billboard was particularly impressive 😅. 18 year old me had no chill (I still don’t let’s be real 😂).

Yes I would like a video about the little mermaid on Broadway! There were so many different versions and adjustments over time, and some aspects were SO good but it was just inconsistent from one scene to another 😞

Do I remember those photos? Yes, I had to teach about them in a program to high schools kids who were too young when they came out to care. Good times. Idea: at Halloween sync the worst most nightmarish costumes to some music and call it “Dan’s Nightmare Reel”.

when I was a kid I saw Disney on Ice and I have a clear memory of Ursula spinning in circles quickly and then suddenly stopping but her lower body/tentacles kept spinning. like they were a different costume piece. Althougu I may be crazy--I had a wild imagination as a kid.

Honorable mention Ursula worth noting: in that 1998 The Little Mermaid Disney on Ice show with the whole movie, there’s a couple segments including Ursula’s human form, Vanessa. I believe she skated a solo to an instrumental of the cut song Silence is Golden, and she also appeared during the wedding scenes as in the film. Footage of the solo skate used to exist on KZbin but I think it got taken down, I would love to see it - I’d really love to see footage of the whole show for that matter but I can’t find it!

My mom and I were Ursula and Ariel for a Halloween party a few years back. The only reason I was Ariel was because my mom saw the costume months before Halloween and wanted it. So I told her "if you get the costume, I will be Ariel." Her costume was actually really good, and we got to use her real hair because it was gray at the time.
