One rumor that I heard (courtesy of Screamscape) was that a Beauty and the Beast ride like the one coming to Tokyo Disneyland would be coming to Disneyland, replacing the Snow White and Pinocchio rides, which I really hope is not true, given that A) they are classics and B) there's no room there to do justice to "Beauty and the Beast". Also, in Toontown, the very strong rumor right now is that a copy of Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway will be coming to the land, replacing only the Gag Factory shop.

Those Sleeping Beauty screens are amazing! Seems like a once-in-a-lifetime experience since I don't recall any of the Disney parks ever doing something like that before. And I had no idea they were refurbishing the castle, so that's very exciting. Thanks for sharing!

Were you there on the 1st? Great vid!! May I ask what camera? Digging the very wide angles! Agreed on Star Wars: how often do we get to EXPLORE A NEW LAND? Never at Disneyland! That’s why I’m trying to be mostly spoiler free especially regarding the rides, so I can explore it anew. Such a rare and exciting time for DL fans! And soybean farmers.

According to another channel I watch, Rocket Rods was really hard on the People Mover's track and path. I'm fairly certain he said that the concrete path would have to be replaced if they wanted to bring it back in some form, but maybe it was just the track.

I was a kid in the 60s/70s, and the Tahitian Terrace was absolutely, positively, my #1 favorite spot on all of Planet Earth. 😁💗 Seriously, it was such a fantastic place to have an hour or so. And cheap??? Holy cow. I still have a souvenir menu. Monte Cristo Sandwiches for $2.50?! Sirloin steak dinner for $4.50! Chicken dinner for $1.25?! And with wonderful entertainment, too?! 😃👍 Aw man. Those were the days.

As soon as I heart Enchanted Tiki Room got a ramp from this video I had to message my friend! The elevator for that ride was the sketchiest thing, and you'd think something like the Tiki Room would be wheelchair accessible. So glad it is more now!

It's my understanding that, "back then," entrance into the park was free. You paid for each attraction. That was long before I was born, but even when I was a kid (1970s), the first "ticket" of each ticket book was a park pass. If you were already in the park when you bought the ticketbook, they would tear out that park entrance pass before they handed the book to you. I guess, sometimes they wouldn't though, because I remember having a drawer full of ticketbooks in our kitchen that contained the entrance pass along with a few tickets for the lesser sought rides (like mainstreet transportation vehicles). Then again, perhaps those books were purchased outside the park. I love your videos, Justin (and Ally)! Thanks for bringing back so many great memories.

I thought the murals that covered the castle looked really cool too. I should’ve taken more pics of it. We were there from Mar. 4-6 and there was a little walkway right by bibbidi bobbidi boutique that you could still get through. I didn’t see the holiday shop. I love the history of Disneyland too. It would be so cool to see the people mover again. I’m lucky I got to go on the skyway buckets when they we’re still there. I really like Swiss Family Robinsons treehouse. Tarzan is cool too but nothing like the original. Keep these videos coming!

I miss the old Rocket Jets. The old Tomorrowland. Monsanto Adventure to Inner Space. And, of course, the Peoplemovers. Every day we were there a couple weeks ago, I would point out the peoplemover tracks and ask my kids if they would like to find a ride where you can sit for 15 minutes and look at Tomorrowland. Every time I asked the question, both of my kids grumbled that, yes, they wished they could sit down.

As someone who frequents Disney World regularly and only rarely visit Disneyland, I LOVED Toontown. Such a weeeiiiiird, quirky land that had so many cool little nooks and crannies. We had no idea what was in store for us when we walked through Mickey's house, so that moment of walking "outside" into his garden at sunset and then meeting him at the end was really something special. I hope it stay!

Hey thanks for these updates Justin! The park is changing so much lately. These videos are so necessary for any Disney people who don't live close enough to go weekly. and that seems to be the only way to keep up these days. I have been dying to see before and after footage of the completed parts of project stardust. I'm hearing they trimmed down or took out a lot of planters. scaled back some curbs on main street. lots of little details. I am just curious how those strategic changes will eventually effect crowd flow. Also, in your opinion. What path back to galaxy's edge do you think will be used the most? and how will that effect guest experiences in the currently existing lands?

I never thought I would say it but...since I have been visiting DLand with a grandkid, I would be very sorry to see Toon Town go. It seems to me that, in the quest for bigger and better rides/lands, the parks are in risk of losing a lot of the areas that are geared towards young kids and families. The closing of Bug's Land was a major loss for young kids at DCA and it would sadden me to see DLand follow suit.

I gotta say, Justin--- for as big of a loveable weirdo as you are, you seem to get the big picture of Disneyland better than most reviewers on the internet. You have a healthy understanding of Disneyland as it marches through time, and how the new balances with the old. Your facts are accurate, you make it clear when you're speculating, and you connect the dots with the relevant details like an expert. And as an outsider-professional, you are indeed an expert.

Amazing video, Justin! I think, that if Fantasyland receives an expansion, it should include the Beauty and the Beast area that Tokyo Disneyland is getting. It'd also be cool if they built ride based on The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Even though it wasn't a huge success, to me, it feels like a movie that is set in a land that Disney could really immerse people in.

I have heard from an inside source that Star Tours will remain in Tomorrowland. Granted, I was told this a year ago, but the reasoning was that Star Tours is for tourists to the Star Wars galaxy. You don't board your cruise ship to Hawaii in Hawaii. Also, Dumbo and the Astro Orbiter exist at the same time. I think Star Tours will stay. Unless they gut it to reinstate the people mover :P

Hey Justin for 10:50 would make alot more sense to replace the fantasyland theater. Why is because, there's enough space and more space to put more rides. And another reason is that if they got rid of that theater, they can widen the train away. And fun fact for that theater, the wiggles a band from Australia went to Disneyland and perform at that theater and yo it was at 1998 and it blew my mind am i right huh? Keep storybook lands and get rid of fantasyland theater i'm with you Justin.

I think Disney should honor the original trilogy more. and one way to do that would be turn the "Tomorrow land" into original trilogy land. Star Tour is already there, Star Wars launch bay is already there too. They can revert space mountain to Hyperspace mountain. and retheme the remaining attractions. not so hard to do.
