I vaguely remembering seeing this when we lived in California (I was born there) and then later when I was about 7 we went to Florida. BUT I will never forget, my dad bought the picture disc of the parade and he played it on his record player for us kids. I will ALWAYS love the music to this. Thanks for posting this for all to enjoy.

I grew up 10 miles south of Disneyland, Anaheim and worked there one summer, and now once again, live 10 miles south and have an annual pass. I miss this parade. It was way better than the parade they have now. But with fantasmic and the firewroks, it gets to crowded at night to have it anymore. I wish they would atleast do one a year on the anniversary of it. Thanks for posting!

I first saw this when I was a kid. We went back when I was a teenager and I was like my whole family was in agreement we couldn't leave until we saw this again. I haven't been in years but if they still have this I am sure it's still awesome. This is a great video.

This made me cry! Some of the happiest memories of my life are the hours I spent at Disneyland (I've been there over one hundred times)! If there is a Heaven, Walt Disney is surely there.

This is my absolute favorite Disney parade! This and the Parade of Dreams. I grew up seeing this every time my family went to Disneyland and I just love it so much. I saw it in Disneyland, then in California Adventure. Totally bummed its all the way in Florida now, but I got to see it for my birthday! My favorite part is Peter Pan =P I actually got him to wave at me once! It made my entire night! I couldn't stop talking about it and I was 18 at the time! lol

This is an awesome video and was put together great. I saw this parade many times growing up. Many of Disney's attractions have remained the same over the years only because they are so good. I wish this parade still remained. Spectromagic doesn't come close to the music, floats, and technical achievements this parade has. I miss the Mainstreet Electrical Parade. This tune was used for a children's show in Sweden (with old Disney shorts) which my dad had taped. I watched those tapes over and over again for several years, from the age of two or three. When I was about nine or ten years old we finally went to Disneyland in Paris and I remember feeling dissapointed that I was too short to get onto Space Mountain. Then this parade started and so did this amazing music, and I'm pretty sure that was the first time ever I felt nostalgic.

Went and saw this parade again :o) this weekend. The best part is I finally got to bring my son. Just as me and my Dad shared in this parade, I got to intruduce my son to this great specticle. I did get a few weird looks when I talked along with the opening words. LoL guess a 32 year old man shouldn't know this thing by heart. I say forget them! I LOVE IT!

I was there Sat night too. It was nostalgic to say the least. The last time I saw this parade was when it was still on Main Street some 25 years ago. I was a kid again on Sat night. Still brings tears to my eyes. I can't wait until my son is a little older so I can share it with him like my dad and I did. :o)

I had found memories of the Electical parade, and was saddened to hear it had been retired years ago, and was happy they brought it back, my Niece and Nephew had not seen it yet. I had hoped to take them before I moved from CAliforina. I hope to visit again someday Disneyland was my favorite place and still is as a adult.

OMGoodness! It's fun to hear this now, but, from 1979 to 1989 when I was performing regularly in the Carnation Plaza with various orchestras...it drove me NUTS! We always had 1 more set to play after the parade so were forced to listen to this every night. But yes, I guess I do miss it all! It brings back magical, sweet, wonderful memories! Thanks, (I think), lol - for posting!

I was blown away 35 years ago when I was a high schooler visiting from Indiana, and one of the snails came up and bowed right at me. I felt personally honored since my last name was Snell! Since those days, I've moved to Anaheim and hold an annual DLand pass. I bought some of the lights from the parade when they retired the original. Does anyone else have those as keepsakes?

This was a part of growing up in the '80s along with my Commodore Computer, Atari 5200, My Quadraphonic Sterio System, My Huffy BMX bike and Disney Worlds Electrical paraide. I saw it in Orlando in 1984 when I was 10 and I could never get enough of TMK after that. Space Mountain was my favorite ride back then when RCA was the sponsor. Seems like a lame ride now compared to what they have today but I loved it. Seeing the DMSEP brings back thoses MEM.

This parade rates a perfect 10! It's just so magical and exciting to watch! My first time seeing the Electrical Parade was in the Magic Kingdom (yes) back in the mid-70's and I never forgot the organ-master lion. this parade is a true Disney CLASSIC. Also, check out Perrey and Kingsley's "Baroque Hoedown" - Disney used this moog composition as the parade's theme melody.

i'm pretty sure that it was me that worked that night in the Dopey costume:) You can tell by the body language and i have watched myself many times on camera to see what i could do better for the character :) That was the favorite of mine ev er since i was little and when i watched the parade when i was little my Dad tells me now that i pointed to Dopey and said that i wanted to do that!!! My Dad says that Dopey was my favie all my life hehe and i guess i can cross of one in my dream book :)

The people at DIsneyland are ingenious. They have the electrical parade in Disney California, and right after they have the firework display in the main park. SO the people with park hopper passes, which is half, go to DC for the electrical parade, and then try to get back to DL for the fireworks but end up accumulating at the main gate. In the end EVERYONE ends up in the vicinity of the shops to buy things and the main gate to leave so the park can close quickly. Genius.

I loved this thing so much I learned the tune by ear for organ including the intro sans voice about 30 years ago. 50+ year old adult child here. Awesome! The Haunted Mansion is in New Orleans Square and it will be decked out for the Nightmare Before Christmas. Disneyland isn't known for roller coasters, but visit Disney's California Adventure to ride on Screamin and the Twilight Zone's Tower of Terror. Disney also offers character dining which is fun if you want a picture with your favorite mouse. I also recommend eating at the Blue Bayou (the restaurant you see when you're on Pirates). A little expensive, but worthwhile. Have fun!

Walt Disney should have never axed this from Disney World in Orlando. The Main Street Electrical Parade was the cornerstone of what Disney stood for and now it's gone. This sole reason is the reason why Walt Disney's dream died a long time ago. The company has forgotten what Walt stood for any no one can ever bring that back.

Disneland itself stopped the main street electrical parade due to its extremely high cost of production, thats what their statement was. I was fortunate to be able to see the last performance of it when i was living out in Ca.
