I just started watching the first couple of minutes of this, and immediatly fell in love! GREAT picture quality so far. I'm glad you're showing as many details as possible. I love the queue, it's so nicely done. I wish the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World was just as awesome as Phantom Manor. To those who think PM is too scary for kids, they have the option to NOT RIDE IT. After all it is a HAUNTED MANSION, not Pixie Hollow. Anyway, thanks for sharing this!

Those memories you have from the haunted mansion, those I have from Phantom Manor, hehe! I visited Phantom Manor for first when I was like 6 years old and the only thing I remembered from it was the ghost in the hallway. Pirates of the Caribbean had much more impact on me, weirdly enough. So when I visited DLP again, 3 years ago I couldn't wait to visit POTC. But when I was reunited with Phantom Manor I was absolutely amazed and inspired. I think even POTC had never impressed me that much!

Totally enjoyed this one when i went to disneyland paris. For those who asked about how the park would be on Holidays , I think that to have a nicer experience you may want to go on june so you get the cool weather and take advantage of the slow hours of the day (noon , extra magical ahours ect) to get access to the most crowded atractions or to repeat your favourites.

The original Haunted Mansions in Disneyland and Disney World were created in part by legendary Disney Imagineer, Marc Davis. It's been said that he didn't like Phantom Manor as he found it to be too dark and disturbing for his taste. He was also upset that some of the Ghost Town scenes were ghoulish adaptations of his own designs of a Disney World attraction that was never built called "Western River Expedition". Marc didn't like it but I would love to see it in person one day. Great job!

@DaveJansenTPV10 жыл бұрын
I know, right? Both versions are aimed at a different culture and mindset. The imagineers did a magnificent job with both of them.
@okamigirl5410 жыл бұрын
Dave Jansen Im glad that theres someone who agrees with me! I just feel so lucky that i have gotten to experiance both of them in person. in fact the only park i havent been to yet it the one in Hong Kong but they dont have a haunted mansion (but if they do I hope its something original and awsome to give us more to love about disney).
@DaveJansenTPV10 жыл бұрын
okamigirl54 Hong Kong has Mystic Manor which is kind of their HM/PM. Because it's a bit of a taboo to talk about ghosts in Chinese culture the imagineers had to come up with something else: Hong Kong Disneyland Mystic Manor

@Rowlins12 жыл бұрын
Just wait until the one in Hong Kong opens. The version there has a completely new theme which is actually a significant nod to imagineer Rolly Crump's ideas for the "Museum of the Weird". The project that for a time was going to be Disneyland's haunted attraction.

@mic456789 Actually, they had an english narration way back when, as someone said, and it was done by none other than the great and talented Mr. Vincent Price, in his very last performance ever. Though sad that they removed the English track, Mr. Price's voice is however, not completely gone from the ride; the bone-chilling laughter from the Phantom you hear in several parts is what remains of Vincent's audio track.

in response to ur comment on my channel. yea it really does hav a darker atmosphere. ive seen lots of PM vids (urs is the best so far) and u can really tell that the story is definitely more dense in this ride, than in the others, which doesnt allow much room for the dark humor included in the Hauntd Mansion. i remembr imagineers saying they felt like this one had to be more aesthetic too being in france or so its definitely more dramatic. plus the othr versions dont include skeletons or corpses

It's a shame that everyone talks over the stretching room voice, it ruins the creepy atmosphere... This is an excellent video, you are great at filming! How do you keep the camera so still even when you are walking? Well, to put this into short, Melanie waited for her lover for a long time then went to the town that was now a zombie town and meets the Phantom. He tells her that there's only one way to be with her lover and she accepts, resulting her falling into what appears to be sharp crystals. The ghost of Melanie in the hallway is her believing that she'll find her lover in the afterlife- Either that or she's repeating the same way she looked for him, like most ghosts do.

oh this one is MILES better, trust me. the haunted mansion isn't a patch on the phantom manor. i made frequent trips to disneyland paris as a child, as it didn't take very long to get there, and this ride used to scare the shit out of me. when i finally got to experience the one in disney world, i was left thoroughly disappointed. it confirmed the stereotype for us that america is extremely conservative. the french language also adds to the creepy atmosphere

Wow. That must be so much scarier in real life. All the audio animatronics are soooooo freaky! I'm glad that there isn't a phantom manor in Florida OR California! The music is very freaky! The laughter from 10:00 to 10:09 is scary. That skeleton guy at 11:00 is scary, he Must be the phantom. I didn't know that Disney had a dark side.

@canadianbaconbro13 жыл бұрын
@canadianbaconbro ... the music, some of the scenes, and the exterior are more dramatic than the haunted manion versions. ours is mor of a tour of the house with a noticeable backstory. PM is more of a telling of a story, hence the deteriorating age of the bride and her demise. haunted mansion is my favorit ride and PM looks like an amazing ride too, and i wud want to visit disneyland paris just to go on it

Well yeah, but in Paris, they changed the story completely. It's still a haunted mansion, but there is the story of the Bride whose future-husband was killed by a ghost and she roamed the Mansion forever. I think the Phantom Manor is my favourite Haunted Mansion story out there, to be honest.
