Good heavens, I haven’t seen The Main Street Electrical Parade since I was a kid. Disneyland celebrated its 40th Anniversary at that time in my life. 🎇🎆

This reminds me of the MSEP mix they had on the Fantasmic! CD in 1991. Not exactly the same, but had most of the themes. What I like about this version is that “Baroque Hoedown” lasts a little longer at the beginning and that when the other themes come in, you can still hear it playing (the Fantasmic! version drops Baroque Hoedown quite a bit so you can hear the other themes). This version also mimics the parade more in that Baroque Hoedown loops quite a few times until well after the last float clears the zone where the music is playing.

This is great, thanks for putting it together and the Pete's Dragon stuff is gold! Since there seem to be experts here, anyone remember a unit for Mickey's 60th birthday in 1988? It came right before the America finale, it was a single float with Mickey on it, kind of like the "disco" Mickey theme here, played the happy birthday song and had a strong "techno" dance beat that worked really nicely with the "America" themes (I worked the parade all that summer so I heard it every night...recorded it but the recording got destroyed, oh well). And still looking for the elusive Fox and the Hound obviously, ha ha. Cheers, this was really fun.

Oh, I have to admit I never heard that Pete's Dragon version from the Orange Bowl. I'm half-tempted to include it in the next version of the Main Street Electrical Parade Project, but I determined that only units that were in a Disneyland Park parade qualify. Bugger, as I also liked the Hercules float in New York.

next time you make a MSEP soundtrack with the Small World section included here's a tip I discovered, either use the Small World track from the '72 soundtrack or the TDLEP soundtrack there are bells in the 3rd variation that are distorted for some reason in this soundtrack *the first 2 bells in the 3rd variation are missing)

a lot of this stuff has been featured on previously released soundtracks. the only one that hasn't is the extended Pete's Dragon music which was heard during the 1978 Orange Bowl halftime show.
