I got to go to a workshop in NYC to learn this dance a few years ago but had forgotten a few things! Thank you Disney for bringing us a workout, education, and entertainment through all of this :)

I am so glad the tutorial is posted! I went on a school trip my junior year to NYC for Thanksgiving 2015 and we saw the Broadway like the second night there. It was absolutely amazing and I fell in love with it. The day we were leaving we were fortunate enough to get a dance lesson from one of the dancers. He taught us a portion of this dance and we all had so much fun! When I got back home I was so excited to show my mom what i learned (even though i have like two left feet so it was not as graceful lol) and over the years I forgot the dance. I have tried so much to find a tutorial so i could re-learn it and never did until i randomly came across this video!

This was lots of fun! I really enjoyed learning and dancing to this and it felt so easy and I felt almost like a pro! My local amateur theatre is doing 'The Little Mermaid' and I really want to be a part of it but I'm not really strong with dancing. So learning these dances to Broadway Disney musicals is really helping me get my confidence and strength in preparation for my audtion!

Thank you so much!!! I love Broadway!! I am stuck in my house because of quarantine and this is way better than sitting around playing video games all day!! Stay safe!! Don't touch your eyes, don't touch your face, six feet away, and wash your hands!!! With love!! PS doesn't look like they are six ft. away lol!!

@@becricket7269 Don't worry I saw tour either comments. I know it's hard at first but trust me keep practicing it WILL make a difference. Things like this used to take me days and even weeks to learn but I started doing it in my own time and now I can have it all down in 10 minutes but it still doesn't really get any easier. Try stretching and a good warm up to get started and learn the basics. I've been dancing since I was four but only started musical theatre two years ago and if you can focus and try your best you'll progress father than you ever though you could. Tip: Never forget about the acting. It's hard to focus on two things at once but if you can show your confident and act well what you're dancing will improve exceptionally

I’m planning on joining performance theatre after having only done tech, this is going to be my audition dance :D Edit: I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole of Aladdin at the moment but “Arabian Nights” and “One Jump Ahead” are such bops omg Edit 2: I’m gonna keep track of every day i practice :D Day 1: ✅ Got half of the choreo memorized! Day 2:✅ First full run! I couldn’t keep up with the music and keep forgetting about that punch-twist but i did it! Day 3:✅ Still rough but I can do it up to speed with the music now!

Aw I would have loved if there were more actual Arabian/middle eastern movements/influences in this. Are there any dances in this show that have more authentic influences (I know that Aladdin as it is doesn't fit the middle east at all, and is more a fantasy mish mash, with a lot of Indian influence as well, but it would be nice if the broadway show improved on this a little)?
