I think the screamers can still summon hoards even if they are apart of POI's. Playing last night and found the concert venue for "the blood mooners" as soon as you step on the stage a horde comes out of no where. And the screamers just kept calling in reinforcements

It feels like everyone's first city is very far from any burnt forest biome city. I made my world using the "line" layout as it gave more and bigger cities, and I intend to move with the trader progression, and even then my first trader was the one furthest from the burnt forest of all forest traders! I do get the feeling that we'll have to spend points in all sorts of secondary skills with the current balance, but at least the respec drug is affordable enough not to break the bank.

maybe it only happens on larger worlds. i play on 4k since it's only me, and jen was about 1.2km away from my forest town, which is about the same distance that bob was when i finally opened him up yesterday. so i guess it's probably definitely dependent on map size!

Speaking of "if the days where longer" had the idea catching 1.0 weekend when you made the day's shorter. What about a series with 2-3x the length of day, meaning next few episodes would be at night too, and hoard would last allot longer but you would have more time to prepare

Josh, you're really sleeping on the new challenges mechanic. Before you move on to the next tier of tools, you should finish your harvesting challenges. If you track the challenge you are trying to complete, the game will highlight any applicable objects for harvest from a pretty significant distance away, making them much easier to complete.

There is some kind of physics bug with falling. You can apparently, conditionally, take damage when you shouldn't. One of the patches said it was fixed but it must not be if it happened that recently. Stack that parkour for now. 😂

In Jen’s defense, when I followed the rules and went to the burned biome, I found a lot of pigs wandering around. Pigs are made of bacon! I had a lot easier time feeding myself, and Jen is delightful.

I wish the POI screamers actually worked like a normal screamer. I also with there were screamers in the world that started popping up at a certain game stage. Like, they replace some wandering zombies or some POI spawned zombies, just for extra fun

Regarding weather, Woodle, TFP have stated that a weather overhaul is coming in one of the future releases. I think 1.0 is just a stepping stone until that is fully implemented and weather will actually mean something.

weather is work as it meant to at this moment. The update after stable is released is the weather up date where the Fun Pumps are overhauling weather, and how you get hot, cold and how the cooling and thermal mods work

The pregen 10k map dropped me on the west side of the pine forest. Jenn is 5km away. I can walk into the snow biome instead. Thinking of just doing that instead.

"moving to the burnt forest for HALF a pip of increase" joshua woodle sir I can guarantee you, the burnt forest is way better than it was in previous alphas. It's actively dangerous now, and the loot stage got me two legendary parts in three days of doing quests for jen. maybes its just my own loot rng but that seems significant. meanwhile, I almost died in the desert at night. these new biome changes aren't messing around 😭 also if you do want to progess traders, youre going to have to talk to jen anyway to get the challenges and the opening trader route special job. found out the hard way on that, unfortunately! not that i mind. it makes sense to daisy-chain the traders imo.

The naff thing about fixed traders is Trader Jen is never gonna be your local trader.. Nobody is gonna move from forest to burnt when ready to move on- its not enough of an upgrade! And you arnt gonna go there as your first trader either- even tho its only half a skull harder, the burnt biome is just a LOT less acomodating to a good start.

7:50 This continues to be an issue of this silly learn by looting system. Solo, you end up needing to sacrifice a bunch of points on day 1, not even to get the books you need, but to increase your CHANCES of getting the books you need. The Nofun pimps will never admit they're wrong though so mods are the only way. 11:00 Meanwhile this stupid static Trader progression. now I'd just ignore the first trader quest and hunt down the burnt or desert biomes day 1. Sacrifice a day to have a better start. 24:10 Holy moly a good dev decision! Rare as hens teeth (as woodle would say) All traders share job level progression? Sick!

Yeah I'm not a big fan of the new trader system. Like if this game was more linear like assassin's Creed or dying light. Then I can understand going from tier 1 trader to tier 2 trader. But that's not what 7 Days to die is it supposed to be an open world survival game where you can do whatever you want if you choose to do it now The game Force is you to start in the pine Forest and then you go to the burnt Forest and so on and so forth instead of sending you to the closest. I hope enough people complain about it and they change that s***

Yeah. It seems that with every update, we lose a bit of the freedom that an open world game is supposed to give us. From removing basic items like jars, setting up trigger lines in POIs that spawn zombies only when you follow the route the devs set up, to now trying to force you to visit traders in the order they want you to, it seems like TFP really want to control how we play the game. Not to mention that now that trader progression seems to be linked between all traders, we'll probably have a very limited number of tier complete rewards, which just kills any motivation to go to a new trader.

No, weather isn't working right now. You can stand in the middle of the desert naked and not bake, and stand in the middle of the snow biome naked and not freeze.

They could fix the temp issue with a dumb but quick fix. Make all light armors give you heat protection. Make all heavy armors give you cold protection. And medium armors can give you like 1/2 or 1/3 what the other two do.

Especially with how common vitamins are: i used to live mostly off of vitamins and sandwiches, especially since the vitamins let you drink from water sources(like rivers and lakes) without getting it either; though the HP loss from both would add up kinda quick, and i'd still need *some* food/water from other sources(until i got the water filter mod)

Josh long time viewer here. I used to get that same lag when beheading a zombie. What worked for me, was moving my game from external drive to my C drive. Good luck mate!

You really are hurting for food? with Vending machines you might be required to hunt ONE deer, or 3-5 smaller animals sure....if your unlucky that is. Second just make sure to check the trader themselves, spend a little money on it. With Vending machines, and constant quick house raids early game, (with simi focus on questing) you will should NEVER have to really worry about thirst or hunger (in the sense of never being more then one step hungry or thirsty. This is without Dew collectors, and making sure you pick up every Murky water drop/search those common spots, Toilets anyone? You can get away with never Farming or Never building a dew collector and have MORE food and water then you will ever need for general use. (No counting for mass building glue or such, as you usually wont need to do this.) once you get cooking to 22 I think, for Meat stew your set for the rest of the game. Doing this by putting one early point into it after your lv 10 or so, but by putting one lv in cooking you get more books in cabinets and such for a quicker lv up of cooking. You WANT Mechanical parts? Put a point in salvaging early on (this is after you get parkour and have 1 point in 4 other needed skills.) but one point into salvaging and you will find a wrench quick enough, or eventually just by looting. Then there are several items you can salvage that will give those parts out. This is the most guaranteed way to get them, otherwise Mechanical parts are RNG found only. Late game Salvaging can replace the need for mining...Almost completely. Mining will still be better for Coal, Nitrate, and Lead. Though Nitrate is the only one you wont find as often in looting as the others can be found in loot/breaking objects. Though as a single player, who enjoys, shotguns, The rifles (not machine gun 7.62 types), and pistols, I have never really ever needed to make ammo in mass ever. even on the second hardest difficulty day 300 plus hordes. the Lead you find, and brass you can get (dukes count as brass) are usually enought to make any ammo I really need. Questing even at half value before the change to 1.0 will always be the best way to get ammo or even make a little. You can easily get away with NEVER mining if you have salvage instead and know what you need to break to get items in POI's Usual week plans is, after horde night repair horde base, spend 2 days grinding resources for buildings/repair buildings for next horde night, then 2 days making sure I have quested/looted ammo, and the rest of the week whatever I want to do. Usually build another base/horde base, or just more POI questing. Game is done. -Vanilla horde nights just get more annoying as eventually they are all just radiated zombies, so you have one less mod slot per weapon to counter that/it doesnt matter with how much you really fight, just build a cant swarm me defense and kill what you can, because you can Horde base type, and you set. -Darkness falls mod makes horde nights more a, too bothersome to fight in/its not worth fighting them. Build a afk/they cant break through in time to get me base. Which is more just building block resources lost. Aka much bigger HP and tougher zombies does not make up for a lack of good mechanics. Cool flying demon that takes a few turrets with about 2 stacks of ammo to kill? Sorry that is NOT fun that is just annoying. As for several other Demon and zombie types, they are just more a really I have to deal with this on horde night, and now there is a dozen of them? Fast regen with TONS of hp=Not fun. Takes little to no damage from attacks, usually a large HP pool, and Dismemberment chance is nearly 0%?= NOT FUN. Darkness falls enemy balance was bad, and no real new mechanics or enemy tactics is what the vanilla game is lacking. Darkness falls did not fix this. Other mods had similar issues to Darkness falls, and the base Vanilla game mechanics were not changed in those either.

Fighting temps when moving around biomes, made the game stave off certain areas because if you didn't have a Leather duster or Puffer Coat, you had a harder time making it around the winter and desert biome. What a hacked up "GOLD" version..... muzzy zombie models (to appease the consoles ) and temperature is not a thing....right, let's make sure every 5yro can play an adult game..... TFP, it's more convenient to keep playing the original versions than paying AGAIN for this mild dumpster fire.

My last build was statted Agility/Fortitude with maxed out Parkour, the lower damage taken perk whose name I forget right now, and the healing factor thing maxed out too. I leaped off a 12 stories tall building for the fun of testing my ability to not die to that, fully expecting to... y'know, end up into a bloody paste on the pavement. Yet I survived with over one third my health and legs intact. That means I *could* have jumped from higher. XD ...And then the game bugged out a bit and I ended up immune to fall damage entirely, but that had nothing to do with my build. Still... Parkour is awesome.

Josh don't throw your bones away you need them for Glue, the armour kits need duct tape for them as well, also check around each town in a biome multiple traders for the biome can spawn. 1.0 feels like the TFP have just set the game up to be played once. When playing a second or even third time doing the "quests" is going to be frustrating "Drink from a water source" and "Eat Charred meat" please... I have stupid hours into this game I already know better.... also the clothing thing is silly. The trader locked to biome is just going to drive me crazy, some of the best playthroughs have been 1 biome only. Please TFPs sort this stuff out.

I agree with the castle idea but id wait till finishing up the final trader missions and had a flawless base running and tons of ammo crafting then id head back just to build the castle in my spare time. Why stop playing once your finished the quests. Build your dream home then go back and do 10 quests for each trader (Going back to Jen every 10 missions lol) if previous tier is still an option. I think im going to take my own advice here because it would make it more fun than just grinding pois every day till horde and i might actually make it to day 100 this time without getting bored lmao.

12:00 the traders being locked to biomes can be fine, but they should have their spacing be better. The pine forest trader shouldn't be in spitting distance of the desert. They should be more or less equidistant to each other. Look on the bright side though. My Jen is 3 km away and is separated by busted terrain gen that drops to bedrock everywhere that isn't a poi.

Does the fact that all traders share the same progression means that we'll only have access to 6 tier complete rewards? If so, TFP just destroyed the quests system and the game exploration. Why bother to go to another town once you settle in a decent sized one? All traders will give you the same quest tiers anyway, and you wont have access to more tier complete rewards. I hope I'm wrong on this one and you can still receive tier complete rewards from the different traders.

Just a FYI if you don't start looting the objects I stated previously you will not have a tier 6 anything or maybe a couple but you won't nearly have enough because the jump from tier 5 to 6 is insane especially for armor

I agree that the temperature element was good, but in my experience I don't really think it did much, maybe stamina regen was a tad slower, that's about all I noticed. If they make it so fine weather in the snow slows your stamina a little but a blizzard starts taking health away if you don't have protection I would love it same with a sand storm, and acid rain, no protection you either get inside or die.

You can skip the opening trade routes progression like you used to, you just need to go back and visit them all once you have a motorbike or gyro if you want to complete the challenges.

I think the armor thing is because there is less armor now and they did away with clothes. Since there are now fewer mood spots overall I think the temp regulation via armor was intentional, frees up slots for other mods!

you should use the mod where you can teleport to base, and return to where you were, set the cooldown to a long time, so its not too cheaty, but you could live on the top of the hill, and still progress and quest without the long commute. Plus its risky for the horde base, they seem to like tunneling under bases on hills

Your messing up hude while looting you need too loot every clothes pile, dresser washer and dryer clothes racks and the new tents it the main way too get legendary part bundles yet you just walk right by them

So I have just found out that they have patched the exploit of using the pipe pistol to get the .44 magnum discount perk at traders, you now actually need a .44 magnum to get the discount once you have read the book to get the discount.
