Velma episode 10 finale review! This episode has everything, and when we're talking about Velma that's not a good thing. As a finale it definitely doubles down on prior themes and combines them into a cohesive ending, but when everything before was Velma it leads to a horrific conclusion. The ultimate showdown with the killer is Velma ranting at Fred about how everything is his fault, before Velma disgusts Norville over a corpse. All in all, although I predicted(ish) the reveal of this episode, I could NEVER have predicted them doing this ending. But what did you think? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

It's practically impossible to make sense of the plot, because the characters will frequently contradict themselves due to their motivations being completely insane. The only consistent part of the show is the writers' prejudices, and prejudice does not intersect with logic.

The mom's main issues is ultimately her own fault. She resented Fred for not being worth, but she raised him. When we see him being privileged, he's calling for his mom to do things for him. We only ever see his dad telling him to do better. She raised him to be helpless then hated him for it. What an idiot. Kinda funny that both Fred and Shaggy were indirectly shown to be hyper capable at points. Fred was able to overpower his dad and is a good marksman and Shaggy deflects a bullet with a sword. Imagine what both could achieve if they didn't have toxic women dragging them down. Gonna laugh when Velma and her deadbeat mom lose the house because the dad actually works and pays for everything.

That's pretty accurate to how things happen in real life at least. Women complain about men, but they raise them. They're the ones preventing men from seeing their children so they can do it on their own. In a good show this would be clever commentary. In reality, it's just them showing their delusional view of the world.

Considering what she considers competence, one can only assume she wants Fred to marry into money. Because that's how you build a successful company. So many plotholes, but the biggest one to me is... Why didn't Fred's mom just hypnotize him into being a better CEO? Velma really is the worst form of self-insert I've ever witnessed. She has to make every character fall in love with her, then to top it all off, have the main villain decide she's the best candidate to essentially live as her son. It also severely suffers from one of the worst traits writers have and that's the "ironic lie." In this case, it's essentially how everyone praises and loves Velma despite all her actions making her an insufferable cow. And yet, when Fred or name a "type A" character does the same thing, they're wildly incompetent.

It makes no sense for Freds mom to be the killer. Why would she kidnap her own son, who is already available at home and easy to manipulate? Why send a search party when she is the one who kidnapped her son and risk having them find out the hideout? This plot would have made more sense, if the culprit was some rival company of Fred's family. That way, one of the members of the family can swap brains with Fred, inherit his riches and then merge companies in the future.

Usually in murder mysteries, there's either one main suspect, or everyone's a suspect. But the fact that Velma picks and chooses who she accuses based on how much she likes them makes her even more unlikable. The quirky, brotherly duo of Shaggy and Scooby, the voice of reason of Velma, the bravery of Fred, the determination of Daphne in spite of fear. Uncovering the truth behind mysteries and hauntings, with no real violence in an ultimately family friendly setting. What the fuck is this? How utterly abhorrent and completely shameful, and a true smack in the face of the original concept of the show. Twerking over a corpse... I mean firstly, having actual blood and death in a Scooby related show is awful. Secondly, how nonchalantly the subject of extremely violent death is addressed, like the characters are not phased by it at all and have a complete disregard for human life. This is utterly psychotic and absolutely vile. I'm not even a big Scooby Doo fan but I did enjoy the old show. Whatever this abomination is, it should never have happened and is completely and utterly disrespectful to any source material and the original magic it had. There was no need to make this - it is not funny, it is not good storytelling - all this is is a shock cash-grab by people desperately out of any original ideas of their own. Absolute bottom feeders of the lowest form that have twisted a childhood treasure beyond belief. Fuck this show. What a disgrace.

Fred doesn't have a working brain or any talents or skills, because everything was given to him and he never earned any of the privileges he enjoys daily? So the whole point of those murders was to give Fred a new brain. Let's make a bullet point of everything that doesn't make sense with this plan. - If the point is to make Fred smarter why still the brains of teenage girls? The girls aren't some kind of geniuses, they're hot and by extension presumably dumb according to the show. Why not still the brain of some CEO? They clearly have connections with people like that. Is the joke supposed to be that anyone would be smarter than Fred? - If she has the ability to hypnotize people why doesn't she hypnotize Fred into being a perfect CEO? - If Fred's parents are so adamant about him inheriting the company and being a manly man why did they start just now? Shouldn't they have been preparing him since he was born? You know, making him go to a special school with extra classes, hiring private teachers, making him do extra activities like all kinds of sports, etc. Stereotypical rich kid stuff. Fred is very obedient and wants to do everything to please his parents. He can at least try. According to the show he totally changed after reading just one book on feminism. Make him read something useful! - Fred's mom better not pull this feminist bullshit. She killed innocent girls because she didn't raise her son properly. I bet the writers were patting themselves on the back. ''Everybody expects that the killer will be a white straight male but it is actually a white straight lady. Aren't we so subversive?'' - If people retain their memory even in a different body, how else would Fred be smarter, and that's what Fred's mom's comment to Velma alludes to, what's stopping whoever will be in Fred's body from telling the truth? The possibilities of rich white male privilege? - Why kill all these girls? Shouldn't she immediately make a switch as soon as she got the first brain? Or was she not satisfied with the brains she got and went on hunting until she finds the one she likes? In that case, she should've gotten to know the people before she murdered them for nothing and potentially incriminated herself. Held some competition or a test and attack the winner or something.

You know, the whole bit of Velmas mom realizing she got hypnotized because she realizes she repeats lines not only made me roll my eyes, but it also made me appreciate the God of War 2018 even more. In God of War, Kratos and Atreus are forced to cut Mimirs head, and later resurrect him with the help of Freya. However, as a bit later on Atreus and Kratos try to use Mimirs intelligence to their advantage (after all, Mimir is smartest man alive... At least according to him. Subject of few jokes from Kratos, surprisingly). As they ask him if there's a way to hurt Baldur, Mimir says that "Baldur is invoulnerable to all threats, physical or magical". As Atreus is quite saddened by that information, and throws an off-hand comment about Baldur that I can't quite remember (I think it was something along the lines of "Imagine if there was a way"), which causes Mimir to re-cite the line directly, something that Atreus (who, by that point, was 11 years old) picks up on it, and points it out to Mimir, who is actually doesn't realize he did repeat himself, something that Atreus once again finds strange, but Mimir tries to rationalize it by saying that his brain is still "resurrecting" so to speak, and he needs time. For comaprison, Velma seems to be completely oblivious to her mother constantly repeating the same line, and doesn't really bat an eye to it. It has to be her mother that needs to point it out to her, because she's too thick for her brain to register it. And not only is Velma older than Atreus, she's supposed to be a smart one. Later on in God of War, when it is revealed that Freya is Baldurs mom, Atreus expresses how that information is shocking, to which Mimir agrees with him, but as he starts going on, he deviates a bit, saying that he should've known that. But as soon as he says that, he kind of goes silent for a second (I guess you can say he was rebooting). As Atreus snaps him out of it, he continues, and Mimir once again repeats himself, something that Atreus once again remarks on. As that happens, Kratos finally realizes what's on the manner, and to demonstrate it, he asks Mimir about Baldurs weakness, to which Mimir, once again, repeats himself line by line. Atreus is confused, and Kratos explains to him that Mimir was likely enchanted by Freya in order to prevent him from saying something that Freya wouldn't want him to say. And Mimir starts wondering if she did it when she resurrected him, or when he first figured out Baldurs weakness. Atreus is excited, but as he wants Mimir to elaborate, he once again reboots, much to Atreus anger, but Kratos is quite satisfied - he now knows there's a way to hurt Baldur, he just doesn't know what it is. In God of War, Kratos and Atreus figuring out that Mimir got enchanted was sound - they concluded it as information was revealed to them. In Velma, they conclude it arbitrarily... For no reason.

Ending it with Velma throwing her own parents out of their own house was like a firecracker on the top of the cake. Fred's mom being the killer makes absolutely no sense. Superior candidates for villain(s) include: -Velma's mother (top choice): a mystery writer that is struggling to get by (if she was a SUCCESSFUL writer, then she wouldn't be living in a dump) and is stuck with a repulsive child -Norville's father: underappreciated psychiatrist that is henpecked by his wife and has turned his son into a wimp that fawns over a woman that doesn't appreciate him, thus perpetuating the cycle -One or both of Daphne's foster mothers: two police officers that clearly don't respect their jobs and continuously lied to their adopted daughter, plus their position in the force gives them access to private files on every citizen in town -Gigi: a popular girl that actually has two brain cells to rub together and is almost as callous and manipulative as Velma -Daphne's birth parents: conniving thieves that heartlessly abandoned her infant daughter and could use their underworld connections to evade getting caught.

I was banking on it being Velma's mom trying to make her...well, less her.

Its strange how they made Velma the most unlikeable character in the show.

I’m having really hard time in life at moment being rejected by friends who I thought were cool but ended up going with the woke crowd. I’m 36 but feel like I’m in high school again. All I’m trying to say is I immensely appreciate you disparu - put a smile on my face on these days that only a quivering frown seems possible. Love and respect from USA always to my Brit cousin.

When I think about the gang in Scooby Doo, they don't seem to have PTSD from seeing a lady being squished by a rock, or from having been held at gunpoint and threatened with brain surgery with a hacksaw. Weird that!?

That image is so upsetting in universe! Fred: “my mother turned out to be evil, had no faith in me, was willing to kill me to get ahead, and has now been horrifically slaughtered in front of me. My whole life is a void of lies and pain.” Norville: “My actions just directly led to the death of another human being. I didn’t mean to kill her. I know she was an evil serial killer, but there she is, dead because of something I did. How on earth am I ever going work through this?” Daphne: “I just saw my ex’s mother reveal herself as monster and die a horrible bloody death right in front of my eyes. I don’t even know how to process.” Velma: grinning like a lunatic and twerking

That scene (3:45) reminds me of Sharon Stone's supervillain portrayal in Catwoman (w/Halle Berry) and the skin care cream that kills people. Now that this episode of Velma is out, that Catwoman movie improves by a factor of 100 in comparison, but both are still crap.
