Velma Review Season 2 Episode 5 where Scooby Doo's Velma is finally subject to justice. Being held accountable for her actions isn't Velma's strong point, but after 2 seasons, I can't see who would think this was a mistake. Unfortunately this episode of Velma wasn't the season finale, but we'll always have the great memories. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughs down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

Crystal Cove? Why Crystal Cove? It was a location for Mystery Inc., most SD shows are actually set in Coolsville; also the fact that the place was called Crystal Cove was central to the plot, as many stories connected to the abandoned mines within the town. Oh, I get it, Mindy only watched the show in which Velma is actually Daria.

I think even Coolsville was a one off as it was from A Pup Named Scoobo Doo. I guess, though, it has been implied to be where they came from in stuff set after A Pup Named Scooby Doo (I looked it up to confirm). At least one episode of What's New Scooby Doo and two direct to DVD movies either feature or reference Coolsville. But its still not that prominent. Admittedly, though, its more prominent than Crystal Cove which was specifically a Mystery Inc thing. However, its not true that "most SD shows" are set in Coolsville. It debuted in A Pup Named Scooby Doo and that's the only show actually set there. Coolsville appeared a few times after that and was quite prominent in the comics, but the gang are largely nomadic in every series and are constantly traveling around. Very few shows are set in one location (each individual movie is typically set in one location but that's not the same thing).

Mindy Kaling's version of "Velma" which I'm going to call Selma instead as it's less offensive to the original is a bigger monster than anything the original Scooby gang had to contend with. Ever since Kylo Ren said "destroy the past, kill it if you have to," idiots like Mindy Kaling have been trying to do just that... destroy everything we love about the past by creating bitter, angry, hateful, spiteful, race swapped versions of it. Unfortunately, all Mindy has done is remind us of HOW MUCH BETTER things were in the past. The original Scooby Doo is funny, kind, entertaining, everything this show is NOT. Mindy sucks and so does this show.

Velma will be getting S3 just because all the hate watching. I believe that the first season at least the first episodes was them trying to be an adult comedy show and they actually tried but failed on a monumental level but were smart enough to realize that the show being so outrageous and bad was what gave them the views and this time decided to repeat the formula and it worked. So technically it’s our fault for Velma not being canceled, I didn’t watch a single episode but I sure watched the reviews on KZbin so yeah… it’s our fault.

If the series finale of this show ended with a massive heel-turn and properly punishes every character who deserves to suffer for their actions, it will suddenly be the greatest show of all time. Taking absolute garbage and redeeming it in the final moments. Like a reverse GoT.

You know how in school you had that one kid whose jokes always fell short and at most might get a pity chuckle... that kid would be too talented for this show. What we truly got for the writers is the kids who literally no-one wanted to be around, not even their bullies.

Velma just falsely accused someone, leading to her almost getting lynched. Meaning her trying to get one over on someone for a petty grievance almost got someone killed. And the cops did nothing. She also never apologised to her girlfriend for being a jerk

Pilgrims weren't sexually frustrated though - they married young as virgins and lived in a culture that did not display sexuality. Even if they had poor sex lives, they wouldn't have known it. Sex had literally nothing to do with the witch trials. As with the Werewolf trials in Germany, it was mental illness and not sex that was targeted

I truly don't want to be one of those 'actually' people, but... There's something many don't realise about the 'pilgrims'/ 'puritans' - that their public lives =/= their bedroom lives; there were certain early beliefs held, that required both male & female orgasms for procreation- this was before the Enlightenment. It was very briefly mentioned in a documentary series, *Super-sizers: The Restoration*
@SeanMendicino-n3d
@SeanMendicino-n3d 4 ай бұрын
@@OcarinaSapphr- What I mean is that the author clearly thinks Pilgrims became misogynistic incels - which as a matter of fact is arguably it's own fallacy. But as I said, the average pilgrim married young, with both parties typically having no prior sexual experience. This meant that neither husband or wife would have had much in the way of "comparison is the thief of joy" going on. Combine that with the fact that culture rarely depicted sex, and I would guess they were much less sexually frustrated than modern people. Again, Witch burning had nothing to do with misogyny - just as Werewolf trials had nothing to do with misandry. Pre industrial cultures really didn't have the mindset of modern misogyny or feminism. It is apples to oranges

Was remembering when Jodi Foster voiced the psycho tattoo in the X-Files. When the guy was dragging Scully to the furnace and Foster was insanely cackling "Burn her! Burn her!!". Quality tv. Scully was partly inspired by Foster's Clarice from Silence of the Lambs so they were all indulging in getting a little freaky.

Are they seriously trying to do a trans allegory with the brains?
@CodexisInkwind
@CodexisInkwind 4 ай бұрын
Alright, im gonna go out on a VERY long limb here as far as the 'removing your brain lets you know your real self' bit. Given the show's attacks on religion, I'd wager a lot of the writers consider themselves 'spiritual' or in the category of eastern religions. Budhists and the like. (Not saying they are good at it, but saying they claim to be so.) Given that, I'd guess that the brain removal bs was supposed to be a joke/commentary or some such on the idea of reaching 'enlightenment' (your 'real' self) by giving up worldly attachments (being removed from your body). I know I might have put way more thought in that then the writers did, but i needed to pause and exercise my brain to make up the pain im putting it through with this show.
