Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire is netflix's new Snyder movie series, but is it any good? Well it looks decent in parts, badly blurred in others (with strange colours) and has little story or characterisation to talk about. The movie feels like random scenes strung together with no real meat to bind them together. Maybe part 2 will fix this and explain more of the random threads that appeared for no reason in this movie. But does that save this movie? Shouldn't a movie be self contained and enjoyable without waiting 4 months for part 2? While Zach Snyder may have had movies interfered with before, this was the movie he wanted to make, in the length he wanted it to be. So things like a story and characters not existing is strange to say the least. Rebel Moon is style over substance, and it doesn't always manage that. But do you think? Did you enjoy Rebel Moon or wish you had the 2 hours back? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

If it was a decent movie, the robot would have been hunting the people in the village. Finally running out of villagers to dismantle, the robot continues its hobby on the local wildlife. When it sees the other characters approaching it murmurs "Humans are such... easy... prey.." as it sharpens its claws in anticipation.

Disney Star Wars is painstakingly calculated to mimic real Star Wars by people who don't understand it. But it's still bad...like expecting steak but it is served boiled with BBQ sauce. Things like Rebel Moon find their own, original ways to be awful...like it was written by winners or a middle school essay contest. Like ordering steak and getting fried bologna covered with gummy bears.

If you never read any reviews, you'll never find your flaws. If you never find your flaws, you can never improve. If you never improve, you will be garbage at what you do, regardless of what you tell yourself. The fact the script writers has never read a single review of his work.... now the quality of the storytelling in this movie makes a LOT more sense.

This was perfect review. Bad script, unconvincing acting, unnecessary scenes (like in many new movies/series these scenes should cause some impression/feeling by overemphasized it all), a bunch of "modern" imposed concepts (woke), ... Like everything lately, this movie was made to promote new ideology. Space-nazi troops and their evil leader who likes to get his hands dirty, main female character who can do anything (without special powers or augmentations), weak support male character, famous general living on street or space Tarzan waiting for rescue by some super trained chick (who was just one among many other super trained solders), … And such nonsenses in the story. -Space Empire finds lonely planet (where people barely feed themselves) to rob them of food, and there is lone lady working in fields while everyone has fun drinking and talking about debauchery as sort of pleasing gods (guess what R version will look like). Big strong guy in community that is after girl (and no other function in movie) and some week support character that is stupid enough to talk out of line and gets leader of community killed (and everyone is ok with that). And then girl kills bunch of highly trained planet conquering thugs. -Gathering of “heroes” (who do nothing really) to fight SPACE EMPIRE (with big ships, nukes that kill planets, space travelling technology) while wielding swords and shooting from handguns. -Sword fight against spider-lady (with heartbreaking story about kids) is so stupid and unnecessary, same as space Tarzan with bronco handling skills or drunk washout General with guilty conscience (because generals don’t get people killed), gay-bar as pointed in video, and more. All in all, movie doesn’t deserve high mark. Keep up with good work.

At least it gives characterization "Gathering of “heroes” (who do nothing really) to fight SPACE EMPIRE (with big ships, nukes that kill planets, space travelling technology) while wielding swords and shooting from handguns. The absolute state of Hollywood screenwriting: dumb. I'm baffled by the ability to harbor any level of ego, while producing something this abysmal. Oh but I'm sure Zach "worked really hard on it" so we shouldn't critique it because Hollywood writers and directors are essentially 5 year old children, that aren't yet developed enough to handle criticism.

The CGI is atrocious (with the exception of Jimmy the robot), the backdrops are flat and ugly, the use of green screen couldn't be more apparent, the ships look extremely plain with very little detail, and the use of an anamorphic T1.5 lens is baffling. I may be wrong, but there are a number of points where it seems that Snyder is borrowing from the 1978 Japanese movie 'Message From Space.' The princess who can bring back the dead(who may be a point for later on), the planet-hopping to assemble a team, the team containing a former senior officer and a prince in exile, all very suspicious.

The one good thing I can say is Rebel Moon was not the worst thing I ever watched in my life. Mind you, that's also a very low bar set. And I was either bored or shaking my head throughout the movie. I literally thought much of the movie felt like a RPG with the amount of time spent and the way it went about forming its party. I also don't expect the Snyder Cut to improve the film, either, other than add back blood to places that need it, like stabbing and slashing shots. I didn't think BvS improved with its director's cut, and unlike Snyder fans, I didn't agree with the Snyder Cut hype after actually watching the film.

A fundamental problem with this film is that the plot is basically Seven Samurai. The watcher banging a bell makes sense in feudal Japan when you're talking about bandits attacking on the ground. Massive space ship? Not so much. And the baddies coming to take all the crops makes sense when the baddies are bandits. Not so much when they're an evil empire, which surely would have its food supply properly organised?

Hunting is eighter an industry in modern times - providing meat and entertainment, but you need a market for that - or an ancient way of survival. A machine running around in a forest, killing random animals, leaving them to rot becasuse it has no need for food or clothing is not hunting but actually a very cruel thing to do. It also contraproductive for the robot's survival who need some kind of energy source and maintenance, non of them to do with anything with "hunting".

The ending is beyond dumb and the fact they tried to gaslight us into believing they won is laughable. By the end of the movie the Blood Axes lost their entire food source, a powerful ally that was feeding them, and a leader. And for what? One of MANY planet destroying ships in a galactic empire’s fleet and the bad guy just getting resurrected from the dead.

I think princess Issa is on that farming planet. I think she was on the ship that wrecked with the main character. I think this is the way that Kora is protecting her. That’s why the robot was able to kill again bc realized she was the princess…..OR Balasarius is using her power with the priests to bring back people somehow. Either way, she’s got to be alive. But I’m SO disappointed! The movie started out great on the farming planet and even the bar scene. But it was so cliche when they got in that ship off planet.

I am reminded by what Trey Parker and Matt Stone said they had to learn about good writing, which is don't write scenes with an "And Then" narrative because there will likely be zero causality or link from scene to scene; randomness will ensure, and hence no connected story. Rather use a "Therefore" and "But" structure - This happens…And therefore this happens…But, this happens…Therefore this happens…

What's not believable about a 5'4" 115lb woman being able to beat men twice her size and weight? Oh, everything you say?
@ptonpc
@ptonpc 9 ай бұрын
I could buy into it a bit more if she was faster / more agile or showed some obvious skills. Imagine a souped up version of Black Widow. Heck, show *why* she is supposed to be called Scar Giver, may have her slicing up opponents in a blurred frenzy of sharp objects. That would even give the 'excuse' for using slow motion during the fights.
@JohnSmith-bu3fw
@JohnSmith-bu3fw 9 ай бұрын
@@ptonpcher being agile doesn't make it any more realistic, because she just wouldn't have the power or punch resistance to go up against men like that. It's total bs that she could be punched in the face and still be ok. Same with other cringe feminist characters like black Widow - 7 stone, 5"3 Scarlett Johansson beating men up twice her size. How? Because... feminism
@ptonpc
@ptonpc 9 ай бұрын
@@JohnSmith-bu3fw At least it would be an in universe reason for her winning. Women *can* be fast and skilled. Many years ago, I knew a swords-woman. She was pretty small but she was incredibly good, able to take on multiple opponents at once (none of the old waiting for each person's turn). If you counted on skill and speed against her, she could easily beat you. Instead you had to rely on brute strength and stamina against her. At the end of each night, she would fight multiple opponents at once, she didn't win all the time but it was usually a close thing. I'm not saying that level of skill and speed is is common but it *is* possible. If you're going to claim it isn't then I know you do not go outside your own little social circle. Now imagine a fight scene where the protagonist is fast and skilled enough to slice up their opponent but can't do it for long. Suddenly you have a time limit and the danger of an opponent being able to defeat the protagonist simply by being bigger and stronger with a skill level that means they can survive long enough bring their strength etc to bear. Would it have saved this film? I don't think so but at least it would make the fights more interesting.

I'm not even sure the lack of originality is the worst part. Lack of originality doesn't in itself preclude good storytelling or at least a respectable presentation of well tested ideas. No, what we have here is actual rubbish. The script felt like something a 12 year old's writers work shop would spit out in an afternoon as a first draft. Also, the performances were wooden. The pacing was coma inducing. The visual effects are just your basic CGI vomit. And the whole production, for whatever it may have been worth, was cheesier than Velveeta down to the last frame. The fact that the subject matter itself is cliché and derivative is besides the point. The point is it's just really, really bad film making in general. How do people like Zach Snyder get nice things? He's a no talent hack.

They can't make women look too powerful or it's straight up fake, but they also can't make it look real because we all know it's not. They keep trying to make women out to be stronger than men. Bruh, our wrestling team like all others were coed. We had AMAZING women on the teams, but there were ZERO women on our varsity or at the state meets. This imaginary reality where women are better than men needs to relax. It's gonna get a lot of women obnoxiously beat up smh for no reason.
