I agree with your sentiment and wish this wasn't a part of celebrity culture, but I honestly think things like this are mostly set-up by the entertainment companies and the press for publicity; an agreement of sorts. If companies wanted their idol groups to not be in this situation, they can always request for backdoor/private entrance like some have done in the past or just not disclose travel information. Where there's a will, there's a way, I guess...
