I wish I saw something like this years ago. Dozens if not hundreds of tutorial gurus out there use displacement maps, but never cover the why and how. Understanding pos/neg values and the tools used to access these values are crucial. Just like channels in Photoshop. Something that's still somewhat a mystery to me. Thanks!
