i tried so many youtube videos , apps and the like and either couldnt stand the instruction or was bored out of my mind and couldnt sit through it. I started with html 2 hour tutorial and followed along on my own with my phone connected to a keyboard and mouse via bluetooth and 3 days later ive made it this far and have an extremely comforting grasp of html and atleast this far in css. ive played with arduino before and thats what has got me excited about coding but Mike is a phenominal teacher and i couldnt be happier with his instruction. im deffinatly hooked. thanks

Hi Mike First of all, thank you for all your tutorials! Just one question. why would you use a display to make them horizontal when you can just put them in span like you did.

Hi Philip, This is just a basic example. But, in real-time scenarios you'd probably want to style all the elements of the navigation bar with a certain property. Then, if you're putting all of them in separate tags you'd have to give them id's and (or) names to uniquely identify each one of them. But , in this way when you're just tweaking the display property, it makes your job a lot easier when you wanna style all the elements combined. Hope you got the idea.

I think this tutorial should be updated as floats have been replaced with flex and grids. Pawel x...he gets into css style sheets in video 10. Don't know why he spent so much time with inline styles, but the concepts are the same, just a lot less messy with css style sheets and easier to control your entire website with them.
