Glad you covered this subject. The Pilot Varsity is a reliable pen you can neglect for literally years, and it will still write straight away when you need it. The other pens are more difficult to find in the UK, so thanks for reviewing.

Very interesting video, appreciate you covering these, I have used both the pilot varsity and the Bic disposable fp. And you are right, from what I remembered the varsity would bleed through my school book as well. But recently I found two inks that I found to work great on cheap paper which are Noodler’s X-Feather which worked great in my EF Lamy safari and also Parker Quink seems to do excellent, plus it’s not as thick as Noodler’s(I had to flush out the Lamy weekly)and dries much quicker, I put that in my medium nibbed Parker 51, I’ve got a very secure case so I don’t mind using a nicer pen in class. I hope those tips might’ve been helpful. Always enjoy your videos. thanks!

The Varsity is pretty easy to refill, but I wouldn't do that more than about four or five times, as it relies on a stiff interference fit to seal.

FYI, a rag soaked w/ acetone will remove all of the markings from the exterior surface of a Varsity pen barrel, turning it into a clear “demonstrator”. It takes a bit of rubbing, but it’s less than a 5-minute project.

Good night. How store them? Horizontal, nib up or nib down? Thank you Very much. Best regards from Brasil.

I often just lay them horizontal. Right now they are in a ziplock bag. But I also have some pen holders and put them in nib up vertically. I don't think it really matters which way they are stored, but for the most part, mine are stored horizontally.

@@fountainpenfanatic Thank you very much. Ballpoint pens and Gel pens I read should be stored ballpoint down however some 1.6 mm ballpoint may leak like the excelent Bic 1.6 mm.
