@@blikthepro972was most likely a super crazy threat an older family member that pushed his faith to this because he was seen as a shame if he was religious? I’m just spitballing here, but what seems to happen with this is some “revaluation revelation” and a dramatic shift from somewhat normalized living to near insanity with whatever religion occupying their day to day lives and resulting in the “spread” of it in anyway possible. In his case his channel. Religion has one thing normal stuff doesn’t…. FAITH. The belief in something that we have no proof of but it’s soooo deep that it can do this and obviously wars and ruin people as a whole. So yeah. I’m probably wrong. Sorry

Yeah like, I'm not sure how he expected people to stay for that content. @J.C...
@J.C... 8 ай бұрын
Nothing about that is "crazy". And I'm sorry but no. Viruses do not "go hand-in-hand" with scams. I'm guessing you're young and only know of ransomware. Viruses were out decades before ransomware even existed. All they did was screw up your computer and send themselves to more people to screw up their computer. Even today, a majority of viruses DO NOT GO HAND-IN-HAND WITH SCAMS. Why would you even think that? 🤷 The only viruses connected to scams are ransomware type stuff. And that only makes up a very very very small percentage of viruses. To go hand-in-hand, there would have to be wayyyy viruses connected to scams. A majority at the very least.

The other thing that people aren't mentioning is that the people who were "funding" the $500k goal were doing so because they were promised a percentage of the profits on the channel. The guy obviously knew that making Christian content would be absolutely devastating to the channel. There is a huge audience for Christian content, however doing so on a channel that everyone is subscribed to for entertaining videos about hacking and VR would crater the channel, and essentially doom it to never be favorable with the algorithm

I'm actually dumbfounded, I followed the entire controversy from the beginning and was unsure of what the motives were - I was under the impression that Jordan wanted to produce different content and his creative differences were conflicting with Jak's which would have meant an end to the channel. That is what I assumed Plan B was. Now to find out that Jak is just batshit insane and wanted to pivot the content to orthodox Christian content and thought that it would translate into retaining the viewership - dear lord (no pun intended) Thank you for providing me with this information.

Barely Sociable, Slightly Sociable. Cadaber, Blameitonjorge, LEMMiNO, Nexpo, Nick Crowley, Hochelaga, and of course Bedtime Stories & Mr Ballen. I know they don't replace Disrupt but if interesting essays / documentaries, great story telling and narration is the #1 reason why you liked Disrupt then these channels should scratch that same itch. The kinda stuff you can listen to late at night, thinking about the little details that they bring up about a particular topic, wondering about the mystery of it or just absorbing yourself into a really great and interesting story.

I don't think plan A would fail, just because he would be transitioning to Christian content. He would just have to do the same exceptional production / editing, and viewers would still watch. Most of the decline was due to the poor reputation, but he's always made stellar content.
@seki108

Unless he kept the videos from turning into a sermon or if the topics were REALLY interesting, the change would have likely caused a decent drop in viewership. Maybe not enough to end the channel, but enough to impact it. Of course, since he would have essentially STILL lied to viewers who financially supported him in Path A, only to RADICALLY change content, the channel's rep would have still taken a major hit.

Its really a shame the channel couldnt recover. Probably due to three major factors 1 : The voice work was TERRIBLE after the former owner was forced to leave. 2 : The entire scandal against them kinda tarnished their reputation, though it could've been recovered. 3: The lack of consistent uploads, and just general lower quality content.
