If you must, this company's goals are clearly best described by Sauron's burning eye in the sky and legions of soulless automatons roaming barren lands. Palmer could choose to fight the wild fires currently raging through the US, the droughts which form their preamble, the desert sands creeping over the earth. Constricting free flow of people across borders is a short-sighted fight against symptoms of far more fundamental issues, and solves nothing. It just makes the number on his bank account go up. Why not geek out on optimizing California's humidity, eh? Why not engineer the heck out of reforestation? Why not use a fleet of drones to monitor and tend to nature's health? You want to play a hero? There's your avenue, that's where you make a difference. All the unpaid volunteers dragging charred remains out of cars and houses out there could use sure Palmer's help, or at the very least his dollars. He will never find the acceptance he seeks within the group of self-centered post-capitalist neo-nazis he keeps trying to fit in with. Whatever satisfaction it gives him will always be fleeting, and they'll require ever more grotesque acts from him. It makes me feel ill to think I have helped Kickstart this career path as early adopter of the Rift prototype back in '13.

Agreed! Great message. Palmer is just another front man for the US intelligence community’s attempts to establish yet another Big Tech behemoth, but this time one strictly concerned with unconventional warfare. It’s amazing how many will swallow whole Palmers ‘altruistic’ motivations for starting “his” company. As if the largest military complex in mankind’s history needed ‘help’.
