Marianne's as smart as a whip, and I appreciate that Michael doesn't treat her in a hostile, adversarial manner. Her spiritual background gives her a wise perspective and grasp of the human condition. I would love to see her message resonate with a critical mass of people: a major waking up. This would restore the term "woke" to something beneficial!

Thanks so much., Michael, for having the courage to host Marianne on your podcast. The mainstream media is afraid of her, because they don’t want to alienate their corporate sponsors. Marianne has an important perspective which deserves to be heard. The Democrats love to talk about democracy and what could be more undemocratic than to suppress debate between Biden and Marianne ?. It’s a form of vote suppression. Thanks for your courage Michael.. It was an illuminating conversation.. God bless you. Francine

Thanks for engaging with Maryanne. She has the bluntness to express the views of the working citizens. Some have worked for poverty wages for many generations. It is past time to realize we all deserve opportunities to thrive. That means a living wage for all jobs is necessary for all to see a future where thriving instead of surviving is the norm. We must make government adapt rules of capitalism that bring humanity back into the equation. The role of the government to raise the quality of life for all citizens, not for the rich and wealthy to enjoy all the benefits of an economy.

Thank you for this important conversation. In 2019 Marianne asked her supporters to donate to Mike Gravel, she did an online convivial conversation with competitor Andrew Yang, and they became friends and read each other's books. She gave over twenty honourable mentions to Tulsi Gabbard, and was the only candidate, apart from Deblasio, to endorse Bernie Sanders. In 2016, she harnessed the power of Sister Giant to help to launch Bernie's campaign. She co-founded the Peace Alliance, and recently received an award from the P.E.A.C.E. department along with Dr. Cornel West. In the eighties she founded Project Angel food to feed homebound AIDS patients, and often took care of them with her own hands, changing diapers, and feeding them while they threw up on her. Remember this was a time, when people didn't know how the virus was transmitted. For the past four years, she has been sharing her platform with down ballot candidates, state by state. Those interviews are a civics lesson unto themselves. She is an incredible public speaker, often inspiring crowds to surge to their feet, and roar.

Thank you Michael for speaking with Marianne. She expresses ideas that all Americans should hear because for too long we have been given just enough to survive but not enough to thrive, especially women and children. And both parties are culpable. There have been many times throughout the years the Democrats should have stood up and not agreed to less but fought for more. Our capitalist system of government is not a Democracy because the wishes of the American people are ignored, as Marianne says. We are goverened by a small handful of billionaires, who fund Congress people to keep Americans survivng and separated from each other. Marianne wants to correct this. It is a shame she is not given more air time.

What policies did Trump put foward that help the AVERAGE WORKER? His first priority after getting elected was to give the WEALTHY like himself more money? Gut saftey regulations, and try to get rid of the ACA which helps millions of people pay for healthcare. All of that was done to help wealthy Corporations and the Rich.

Thank You Michael Steele for giving voice to a presidential candidate. Its shameful that we have to circumvent the media in order to hear a presidential candidate with an astute sense of the world and with the voice to bring it to the people. Its become a quagmire where if you know, you know and if you dont know, you likely never will. And we still project the land of democracy far and wide.

When I was in college in the sixties and seventies state governments contributed much more to the funding of state universities. After WWII and Sputnik, the philosophy was that education was important to a successful society. Over time the idea has arisen that education primarily benefitted the individual. The fact that society also benefits has been lost.

In 2015, I was not particularly impressed with Marianne Williamson's candidacy. She seemed to be on the right track but a bit... wispy. But I was very impressed by this conversation and her precise framing of the broad issues underlying the more specific ones. I may vote for her in the primary. I think she would take Donald Trump apart in a debate - now. Biden would be smart to make her Secretary of State or Education, or head of the EPA.

If college education were free, who would pay, Michael asks. The answer is corporations and billionaires pay taxes as they did in the seventies, no loopholes, no hiding money in foreign banks. Big businesses benefit more from their employees’ good education than the employees themselves. Education benefits more than the person who receives it. Good education benefits the entirety of society. That’s the answer that Michael and Marianne should emphasize.

She hit the nail when she talked about candidate suppression. The DNC wants you to go out and vote for whom they want you to vote for. That's not democratic. I don't plan to vote and I hope many people like me don't vote. this way the Democratic Party will learn a lesson. They need to go back to its roots. They need to be for the people. They need to be democratic and give people choices.

Dude doesn't even realize that people actually go to public colleges. And he's clueless about the influence of corporate donors to colleges. The federal government (Congress) can fund anything it decides to pay for. Federal government is the currency issuer and can fund anything. If government provides the states with funding colleges, those states benefit from the students & families keep that money in their local economies. There's a difference between "paying" for and "running" a university dolt. Same applies to Medicare for All. Obamacare is a right-wing plan from Romney care in Massachusetts. It's a right-wing corporate handout plan. This guy is rude and disingenuous.

I gotta admit, I never took her seriously. But as a 54 year old woman with student debt (and no degree), no job (I need to work from home due to health issues), and chronic autoimmune issues, she’s right about college and Obamacare. Yes, Obama helped…BUT, healthcare was still left in the hands of Big Insurance, and while a step better, it’s no prize. She has great points. Also, I am finding many jobs are private business owners who 1099 you. If you are let go or fired, you have to live off what you saved for taxes. The state doesn’t recognize you as eligible for unemployment, and your taxes are higher because you “run a business”. BS, I do. I needed a job, and I took what I could get, which bit me hard the following year. Employment numbers don’t count the folks who are looking, but have limits. I fell out of the system a while ago. So, the system is a mess. Folks like me are unseen. Bidenomics is not helping when one trip to a grocery store can be $200 for a few bags of groceries. We need help, for sure.

He lost me with the mean tweets, but won me back with sex abuse!"

In Australia we have free trade college and university. After graduating, once you earn over the living wage, federal government starts taking out 8% of income before tax to pay the student HECS scheme. Students also get a liveable allowance and the government contributes to the cost of the degree. We also have universal health/Medicare to all people at 1% of income. We don’t get free anything, it’s free at point of service but the profit motive is not a central focus of basic needs and we pay most things in the back end instead of front end like Americans do.

If everybody who supports Marianne donates $5 a month to her campaign, she would be able to advertise. How about we the people pool together and take on the "same old same old".

Sounds exactly like tRump's 2-bit con against America. Lots of rhetoric and criticisms, with 0 political experience to follow through.

Michael Steele! I have listened to you on MSNBC and other places. I am NOT Republican but this has been one, if not the best podcasts I have heard in the last months. REAL conversation and listening! It is so rare. Thank you and keep going. The Republican party needs ... Well maybe that's gone... Who's going to build what will replace it?

$15/hour was what was needed 10 years ago. The longer it takes to improve conditions, the bigger the leap will be. Like going from $7.25 to $15 is much smaller than $7.25 to $25.

She is no different than the politically inept don the 2-bit con, who divided our nation with misleading rhetoric. Voting for her will only divide the Dem ticket and enable tRump with enough power to become our fascist authoritarian dictator.

Marianne's views are important to include the political discourse. The repub magas want to party like its 1839 ,,, the donors of the dems want to party like its the 1990's. Marianne wants to get going into the 21st century. Thanks, M

What I am not hearing is realistically what she would do. I hear a lot of grievance which I am tired of, I am still dealing with at least 7 years of Trump saying it's not fair - so what's the difference? I dislike hearing you should, maybe I don't agree with your list of things because how do we get there? I am kind of old for pie in the sky, how about the recipe for the pie? I am enjoying Michael's discourse not her rehashing of what is wrong.

Gas prices are not that much lower and many businesses in my community are closing early and on Sundays because they don’t have the employees to work. I’m depressed because of Trump and the high prices in this country. Oregon is outrageously expensive! Rents are outrageous! I can’t afford rent and have to rent a too from my daughter or live in an ashram where I can trade my housing for work. It’s all BS that things are good!

I understand depression and I wish I could give you a great big hug. You have a: MAGIC MAGNETIC MAGNIFYING MIND Whatever you place your FOCUS on MAGNIFIES. If you choose to place it on the problem it will magnify. If you choose to place your FOCUS on the SOLUTION it will magnify. The thoughts you choose to entertain in your mind and unite with your heart has a strong tendency to MANIFEST. I hope I did not step out of line sharing this with you but I could relate to depression and I love people so much. I pray for those who are mentally and sick I have been there. I hope this helps in some way sending light and love.

Behavioral economics is better than standard economics for describing the lived experiences of how people feel about inflation. Taking a one-year change in price is not what people feel. Price is compared to the anchored price; what people remember paying for years. Today's price may be lower than last year's price, but it is still much higher than three years ago. And the price three years ago was about the same as the price four and five years ago.

I don't think in America, the land of supposed equal opportunity, any candidate should have to paddle upstream. The fact that, that does seem to be the case, makes me angry, and even more determined to lean against the wall harder in favour of candidates that the corrupt establishment seem determined to hinder.
