This channel convinced me that I could step out there and start my podcast. I did and I love it. But I am learning about production and editing and getting the word out which is the hardest part. I will take the course eventually but Covid has reduced our family income and I will have to wait to be able to afford it. I am determined not to be one of those quitters after 7 episodes.

That’s awesome! You don’t have to figure everything out. You’ll always be learning and improving as you go. I’m glad you started and in our channel you can find a lot of good info.

I absolutely love true crime, and have ever since I was a kid. I love watching documentaries, reading books, podcasts, watching tv shows, all of it. I find myself continuously coming back to starting a podcast. But, I have no idea on where to start, how to research any of the information, how fact checking works for this type of thing. Nothing. Watching this video brought up a lot of good points. And it is still something I am considering. Whether it be true crime, or telling short stories. Both of which, I have a true passion for. Maybe, I could combine the two. Not sure. I'm really glad to have found this channel, and hopefully I will comment back sometime with the good news of making it a reality!

Make your to pick wisely when choosing video thumbnails. There are 3 options: Big pic of your face eclipsing victim's face. Big pic of your face (eyebrows raised) eclipsing victim's face. Big pic of your face (finger on chin) eclipsing victim's face.

Great video and amazing intro! I’m really glad that you addressed the plagiarism issue as that is a very serious charge.

I know! They were in hot water for this. All you need to do is to credit your sources. There’s a misconception that if you cite somebody else’s work you don’t know your topic or you lose authority when it’s totally the opposite. This is what attorneys do all day every day to back up their arguments and facts.

Loved the video. Interesting that the host of casefile is anonymous and shares no personality but is still wildly successful. I wonder if that's because he's just an amazing story teller..

When I first started to study Lizzie Borden the first thing I did was listen to their podcasts on Lizzie and it was so poorly researched I couldn't believe it. I'm not a fan of the constant chitchat either however because of their success I have incorporated more elements of humor into my own podcasts and the fans are loving it. I have over 7, 262 downloads for 7 episodes but I specialize in trial testimony and other work by Borden Scholars. Ur a lawyer, of course you love true crime. 😎

Yes! The bar is set pretty low as far as research and fact checking. I think they’ve gotten better over the years. I LOVE TRUE CRIME!

I've tried crime junkie, and I just can't. I feel like I'm listening in on 2 girlfriends just gossiping🤢 I like sword and scale, anatomy of a murder, and others of the such, that, have recorded calls, interrogations, and actual interviews. I know some people 'can't take hearing graphic content' but I think it's important to hear what really happened...sometimes there's families still waiting for answers. And maybe it takes hearing the details to make people care more about the cases😔

I agree! I like the more journalistic type where you can hear police interrogations and audio from the trials and hearings.

But how can someone like me who be the only host be able to make such a podcast. Most true crime has 2 host. Wouldn’t people get bored of hearing one singular host.

I loved this but the background music is too loud and distracting from what you're saying to me. I'm neurodivergent so that may be on me but I felt like pointing it out because everything else about this video was perfect
