Maybe why many of us missed the Prop 8 focus-it was during the Obama vs McCain campaign. And the Sarah Palin sideshow. And the middle of the financial crisis.

As a parent of lgbtq kids, this episode resonates with me. I spent years crying every Sunday trying to find a middle ground in order to stay faithful. It didn’t work. Ultimately I felt pushed out.

I love the observation that the culture of the church is "downstream" from the doctrine. The culture can only develop the structures that the doctrine permits, and the doctrine is the "stuff" that the culture of the church is made of.

Speaking of ads. While listening, got a popup LDS ad (Church News is site) about Relief Society leadership traveling to UK to help local church provide assistance to Ukrainian people. Cheech! Love local penny any assistance however genuine rather than use of the church $140 BILLION charity fund to do massive good. No hesitation to use church funds for political purposes but no to member tithing deposited in a charity fund. Talk about hiding behind women's skirts... Doesn't the church leadership double speak & cynical propaganda remind you of certain dictators? Would Christ hide behind private personal donations rather than use church funds for people in need? Sad.

Wow, how can I stop the church from advertising on my youtube videos? 😜 If I could figure it out I would! And I agree, their money stuff makes me so mad. I want to an entire episode on all their wealth and where it goes, stay tuned I'll try to make it happen!
