The fact that Opera omnia has a lot more care than NT is really sad as of now I just wish that they made a AAA version of that game on console it has a lot of fan service a decent story mode with lots of interesting character interactions and an engaging battle system basically everything that NT was missing

Let's be real anyway. EX burst is near useless because Assist and EX Revenge is much more reliable. The only uses in EX Burst are seriously just.. gaining extra XP ?

@@zapperil yes but they are cooler. In term of utility sure they are inferior, but in terms of flashiness? I like the EX burst mainly because it looks cool. I didn't know about the extra EXP until I played the game for like a year lol

Though the video is old, I give my thanks for taking the time to give a summary of the Dissidia series. To me, Square should not give up on the series since many players, including me, enjoy the story aspect and the combat system. I love the idea of characters from different Final Fantasy titles coming together and interacting, and with Opera Omnia being my introduction to the Dissidia universe I wish Square followed this idea instead of NT.

Oh, you showed part of the work I did for Opera Omnia in the FF Wiki! I'm so happy! (Btw, Zack was released yesterday on Opera Omnia and Rydia will appear next week). You need to have the clock of your device set in the japanese timezone to download and install the game because it won't let you install it or update it otherwise (welp, that's a very common issue with android users, I don't know if it'll work on iOS too)

The story tied to the previous dissidia's in anyway?

MRWhoreoscope. Yes and no. The first arc of the story just ended in Japan after 11 Chapters, and was basically the same they are doing with NT: eliminating one of the two remnants that survived the cycles of war (although this remnant in particular is not as dangerous as Shinryu at first). Opera Omnia takes place in a pocket dimension created by the crystals of Spiritus and Materia's NT incarnations called "Garden of the Gods", where the cycles of war NEVER existed (thus no Cosmos and Chaos) BUT somehow there's another Spiritus and Materia who already know each other (unlike NT). Then, one day, from the dimensional distortions start appearing all over the "Garden" and starts corrupting the balance while summoning hordes of monsters, at the same time the crystals summon a moogle of the ancient past (the second remnant who survived the cycles of war) and give him the mission to close it. To do this he needs warriors with something called "The Will of Light" that can close those dimensional distortions, however he needs their "dimensional coordinates" (a link that allows him to summon them at any place and at any moment). First he obtains the DCs of Rem, Sazh, Vivi and Warrior of Light and then he starts travelling the world to close all the distortions. And I won't spoil anything more, except this, the title of this first story arc: "Suspicious Moogle arc".

One Eco Interesting. Is this the same moogle from the psp version? Cause you hear a moogle speaking as you go deeper in Dungeons in the 0000000 timeline. There end game storyline that lets you choose a mixed party.

I also contemplated on why Opera Omnia hasn't been released in coincide with Dissdia NT, but then I got to think about the game, the franchise, as a whole. NT's success would be that of the game itself and with the amount of characters in the FF Universe, it would be hard to create them all in full 3D Unreal Engine with their own kits. With Opera Omnia, I got to thinking, it would be a good release (obviously, it's already announced for West Release) after the release of Dissidia NT to help carry the Dissidia franchise while slowly creating new content for Dissidia. This makes the whole World of Dissidia become one giant FF fan service that, imo, will help Square in the long run of things concerning Final Fantasy. Overall, Opera Omnia releasing a little bit later after NT would stretch the longevity of the Dissidia franchise that can be well-beloved by both old and new FF fans--THE Final Fantasy game for longtime fans and newcomers alike!

DIssidia is my favorite game franchise of all time, so I do hope it continues past NT, especially since I feel Duodecim (and Opera Omnia) are both superior to NT mechanically speaking (among other things).

I haven't played NT (or Final Fantasy in general) enough for my opinion to be considered valid, but I think it should carry on. It's unique compared to what I usually play and offers a refreshing change to the FF I've known for less than half a year.

This is a great summary and is very through, but I feel like one thing should be mentioned. When Duodecim released, it's sale's were kinda abysmal , but that wasn't indicative of the marketing or the state of the franchise. It was because the Nintendo 3ds had released only a week prior. It was due to the current handheld market starting to shift.

I'm really uncomfortable with the X being the bravery attack. I end up hopping so many times when I'm trying to attacking. And the options menu doesn't give the option! I hope the add on to the story while the continue to add characters. I'm hoping all the Opera Omnia characters will get added, and the game localized. It looks good, and I love the Dissidia universe.

ALL Opera Omnia characters is somehow impossible now. In OO we are about to reach the 80 characters milestone, and NT's roster will have 50.

I'm glad that the Assists disappeared in NT and were totally reworked in Opera Omnia, that was the shit that made the online in 012 so annoying. People were constantly using the "Zidane-Aerith" strategy and it was almost impossible to enjoy those online matches.

Aerith was just so fucking imbalanced, I love her character but 012 make me utterly hate her, her and the Assist mechanic. Though, this changed after playing Dissidia Arcade and Opera Omnia, you see, I think about party members in Arcade/NT as a Assist-like addition, though this time they are always in the battlefield and, if your teammates are good, it could lead to even greater tactics that Assists could never achieve in 012. In Opera Omnia otherwise Assists also depend of other players, but on different ways: there's Offline and Online Assists. Offline Assists are the evolution of 012's Assists and Online Assists are directly inspired for the 3v3 party of Arcade/NT. Offline Assists can only be summoned once per stage (and since each stage has various rounds, it's up to your choice when activate it) and you can control them freely, they only swap one character of your team. However, these act like the Companions of Record Keeper and Brave Exvius, the favorite characters of other players that, if equipped well, are going to be very useful. Online Assists is the same concept behind the 3v3: 3 players, 3 characters, 1 shared goal.

I feel like an Assist character in an 3 V 3 game is redundant. Your team is supposed to assist you. But Limit breaks would have been cool. Dashing too, but IDK how it would work.

im talking 1v1 modes mainly with 3v3 assist and limit breaks can take a backseat. basically i just really want to play something as close to the psp games. i get the appeal for team battles but im not that keen on it.

I've been playing the beta and its become clear that all the characters are made to be very simple. Plus the stiffness does make thing enjoyable.

wish i didnt see this so late, but yeah the series is HUGE in japan, mainly the arcade scene. Mobile version was sort of the test, and when they introduced the arcade version people hyped. Then the vita version came out where you can could combine bonuses and stuff. and it was super hype, its still pretty big there today, but mainly for special events,.

Should've just had both seumour AND jecht, or made seymour DLC. Guess they just didn't want too many from the same series. NT needs to rectify this though as on ps4 there's plenty of room for a larger roster, be it norm or DLC. Customizable party members like classes from FFI would be a cool edition too

There is still one thing that I don't understand about the Dissidia franchise as a whole- Is it canon in relation to all the FF franchises that are involved in it? Because...According to FFXiii-2, The possibility of alternate universe dosen't exist, because the goddess Etro is only able to create a certain amount of people, and that's why one person in the FFXiii won't have a parallel double of himself or herself in an alternate universe. So, according to this logic, Lightning COULDN'T have had appeard in Dissidia 012, if she this version of Lightning comes from an alternate universe. Plus, considering the fact that Lightning DIES in Dissidia 012, and retained her memories of 012's plot when she came back in Dissidia NT, it calls into question of the Dissidia franchise' canonicity in general in regard to all the other Final Fantasy games...

If you think FFXV is incomplete and not worth buying you 've seen nothing yet from SE, 012 is my favorite fighting game while NT is an atrocity , just an incomplete game with less characters than the PSP one a laughable story with cutscenes that need to be bought just to artificially extend the time needed for completion, ( at least there weren't microtransactions ) the new battle system while cool and fun removes the precise dodge and attack of the original in favor of chaotic madness that reminds me of J stars (fun game but I would't call it a good fighting game ) , the bosses are cool but are not enough to justify the purchase all n all it's easy to see that this is an arcade game with shoe-horned in modes to trick single player fans into purchasing it , this should be a 20-30 bucks release or even ftp seeing how little effort they put

I know Im yeaaarss late but here's the jist of it: Shinryuu and Cid are the creators of the Dissidia; the world (known as world B, a mirror world of world A where FF1 takes place) and their gods known as Cosmos and Chaos. Shinryuu wanted Chaos to win all the Cycles so that he would get powerful so that Shinryuu will use Chaos to destroy their hometown "Onrac". However, the 12 loss streak of Cosmos gets broken when Cid helps Cosmos in the 13th cycle known as "Light to All". Since Cid interfered thr battle, he breaks thr pack with shinryuu and transports Cid to a realm in which Chaos wins the 13th cycle. This continues until the 18th cycle where Chaos turns into a psychopath superweapon named "Feral Chaos" in which he kills all of Cosmos' warriors and his own warriors. Cid would then seal Cosmos and himself in Mulmond since Feral Chaos would kill Cosmos. Feral Chaos then challenges Shinryuu since he is a bloodlust fucktard and Cid as a Moogle seals the upper continent while the two are battling.
