I've been listening to this video regularly since I first saw it in 2014. I still think this is incredible. I like it how the audience at 4:55 can appreciate the climax.

Like a lot of the people here, I found this probably not too long after it was posted, and it's been something I keep coming back to, years later. I actually think this is better than the Spotify version, just because you can feel the whole ensemble in sync emotionally. This song, and especially this cover with a choir really brings across a kind of anguish that's hard to express in any way other than music, and over the years it's been hugely cathartic for me to be able to come here to get that out. As many others have said, the climax of this performance is something else. I really wish I could find sheet music of this, either to try to work with a choir to recreate, or else just to see how this group put together these magical chords. If anyone has anything, please let me know.

I don’t think starting with the interlude adds anything to the performance. The way this song starts is what makes it so magical. Otherwise, best dissolve me cover on KZbin. No contest.
@musicalman19956 ай бұрын
Another thing to point out is- the guy with the yellow tie is quite passionate about this arrangement but to its own detriment. It’s quite self-indulgent to start the performance off with the whole interlude - implies to me that he forced it on the rest of the group. Another thing, he’s very obviously trying to do an invocation of Joe Newman in his vocal inflections but honestly I want to hear what his voice sounds like, not try to imitate the band.
