I'm impressed with the question of the Vulcan Mind Meld between Solek and Taylor. It was both unexpected and had always been there in the background. From the standpoint of storytelling, you hit pay dirt, so to speak. I'm not advocating nor rejecting any life choices or storylines, just give me a good satisfying story arch with a logical, satisfying ending, without deus ex machina and I'll follow. Well done.

Both thumbs up for this one! Another interesting episode, again heartfelt and true Star Trek. The new (?) interior CGI backgrounds are really nice, the physical locations are nice as well, and I find the acting is good (meaning believable). Sam Cocking's CGI is outstanding as always and I've always loved your title theme. Thank you for putting so much love, time and work into this. I've been following Starship Intrepid for years and I'm looking forward to more films about Captain Hunter and his crew. You're an inspiration and proof that homemade Star Trek fan films are possible. You're not the first ones and not the only ones to prove this, but one of a very few groups that keep the First Contact era (which is my absolute favorite) alive. Yes, we have ST:Picard now as a sequel and it fills my heart with joy, J.L. Picard is really the man we used to know. However, it doesn't feel exactly like TNG (and it's not supposed to). So please keep up the good work and keep on trekking. Best Regards from the USS Atlas (a fan group from Germany)

So far, loving the rebuilt bridge set. In fact, all your physical sets have improved in quality. I see that Navar's hair has changed length again, lol (what species is his character again?). When *aren't* the colonists at odds with Starfleet? Once again, you've made me wish I had such a group of friends to run around and play Star Trek with. Guess I'll have to stick to written fan fiction. By and by, I have always love the title sequence with the names appearing on the hull of the ship.

Phaser going off as the one who is firing it is falling. That's got to be a first. Bring up the volume on the opening titles. It sounds like a great enough score, it's just too quiet. I really miss this much attention to canon in Star Trek.

This one was very well-done indeed. It's a little odd (for me) that everyone has a Scottish accent. But, I suppose, it's not more absurd than everyone having an American Accent.
@StarShipIntrepid5 ай бұрын
I think most of us are so used to American accents in media it seems like the default, so I do get the slight disconnect. We’ve tried to add a bit more variety in accents in more recent films. :) And thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. This film was a bit of a train wreck, production-wise, that it actually turned ended up with a mostly coherent narrative was a relief. :)

I've said it before and I'll say it again, "Nothing trumps a conversation, at least in the beginning." A failed conversation could lead to hostilities, but most races prefer to avoid shedding blood needlessly. Even the Klingons find no honor in mindless combat. They'll fight to protect their homes or honor or even expansion of their empire, but never just for the sake of it.
@fje69024 жыл бұрын
Capt. Hunter does not owe those colonists an apology. His speech at the end is pointless. He tried earning their trust, and all he got for his efforts was growing hostility. If those colonists want to stand on their own so much, Starfleet should leave and remind them they are on their own. If they want help in the future they should seek it elsewhere.

Everyone has a UK accent. Various British and Scottish ones. I am guessing that these fans are from the UK, but it reminds me a bit of Doctor Who...where everyone, including non-himanoids have UK accents. It is as if Star Fleet Academy was in London, instead of San Diego.

Excellent work. I have only 1, hopefully constructive, observation. I notice a tendency amongst many fellow Scots, when in what they perceive as some kind of ‘official’ situation (e.g. being in front of a camera), to over enunciate and try to hide their Scottish accent/diction. Or at least artificially ‘formalise’ it, as if they’re doing a reading from a page at church or something of that ilk. A couple of the actors here were doing it. Particularly, with words ending with ‘t’ they’ll pronounce a hard ‘t’ rather than the softer one that would occur naturally with their accent. I’d encourage those people to imagine how they’d say the lines in their own normal voice and stick fairly close to that - relax and embrace your Scottish lilt! Just a minor point and probably only noticeable to pedantic Scots like me! Honestly, a terrific job overall🙂

Very poorly done. you people seem to have missed the point on this one . in roddenberry's star trek obesity had been overcome. and all the star trek uniforms were from the same error. jackets and vest were always well kept nice and tight. not left open such as the fat man that beamed down to the planet in the uniform that clearly didn't fit. and why is the doctor running around in civilian clothes? did the replicator suddenly run out of uniforms? Why is there a space station drifting around the same planet that the crew is researching what is this an episode of babylon 5 or something? (yea that one thumbs down was from me.) on a scale of 1 to 10 I give your overall performance a minus ten.you people must be from that group of fans that didn't make the cut for the canadian based fans episodes.

Careful the nerds are restless. They only take kindly to fake praise. If you are honest and tell them what you really think about something they take it too seriously. They are unable to except the fact that other Star Trek fans will take the opportunity to watch anything Star Trek but expect it to be done a little better than this one was. When the uniforms don't fit and the so called "special effects" are nothing special, they don't like someone in their little world saying something about it. Too bad they don't put that energy into making a better product. See you guys in the funny pages. Bring on the hate.
