Distance is the greatest. A world where dubstep and music exists but Distance did not would truly be a messed up world. Other genres need a king like Distance to bless them with their incredible presence.

I dunno man, Distance's are amazing for sure, definitely top-tier but there are a few others who are similarly amazing. Benga has some really good drums, Toasty has absolutely incredible ones, and El-B has some legendary drum grooves, although they're generally more of a garage-ish style. Cheers :)

@@angryhobo212 They have very similar drums throughout the album. Also quite easy to find similar drums on other artist tracks. When I first listened to Mirror Tell, I was convinced there is nothing like that. There are few others I think that try to vary they drum beats like Kode9 and Pinch. As for Toasty, I haven't listened much as I can't find any album yet.

@@mdjey2 I don't think I've heard Mirror Tell before, I'll have to check that out, thanks a bunch! Toasty never put out an album unfortunately, he's a bit elusive and he stopped making music years ago, but be has quite a few tracks out there. "The Knowledge" is definitely his signature track, I'd recommend checking that out for sure. The drums are absolutely mental, very hard-hitting. "Like Sun" is the B-side to that and it's fantastic too, very serene. I also just listened to a track called "Skinny", really nice and smooth. There are a lot of other tracks floating around too, pretty obscure though, lots of unreleased ones. There's a mix out there somewhere by someone named Threnody, it has lots of exclusive unreleased tracks that you probably can't find anywhere else. I'm not sure if it's anywhere online anymore though, there might not be any working links currently. I have it on the hard drive of my computer, but it's not currently working. When I get it running then I'll probably upload it somewhere if it's not out there currently. If you search "Threnody Toastyboy" then you might be able to find it. Anyway, sorry for rambling. But yeah despite being obscure, Toasty's a fantastic producer, I hope you like what you hear from him. Cheers :)

@@mdjey2 Good news, that Toasty mix is still online! Back in the day I downloaded it from some random file hosting site, so I was worried it would have disappeared, but apparently it's on sub.fm! Here's a link: archive.sub.fm/threnody-toasty-special-18-jul-2007/ And here's link to another mix that I just found while looking for the Toasty mix. It's another great dubstep producer called Matty G. He's from the early days of dubstep, also pretty obscure, and he's from the states. One of the few Americans who really understands the original dubstep vibe, and he picked up on it very early. You should check out his classic track from around 2005, called "Layin In Bed". Anyway here's a mix of his tunes: m.soundcloud.com/sonicrampage/bay-ten-a-third-matty-g-tribute-mix
