Social Distancing doesn't mean we can't have meaningful interactions. Whether you're a teacher, a business person or an individual at home, we can all make use of videoconferencing software to stay connected.
In my previous video, I highlighted the functions of a Visual Presenter (ELMO MX-P2). In today's video, I show you how it can be used in a Distance Learning/Virtual environment. Whether you're a teacher, trainer or salesperson, many people can benefit from the use of a Visual Presenter in a videoconference session. Make your presentations interesting and engaging!

Ed, me again, I live in Toronto, Canada, where do get ELMO, or the other black camera from? and how much? which the two cameras is better for teaching on line? GREAT CHANNEL, very useful, practical....keep it up!

Thanks! It really depends on what you're looking for. The IPEVO unit is a fairly basic and more than capable USB document camera with a nice integrated mic that has the AI background noise cancelling feature which I like and the ELMO (new unit is called the MX-P3) is about 3 times the price (approx. $150 US vs $450 US), but has much more connectivity options like HDMI, RGB and has an onboard SD slot....so essentially a lot more features. So if a regular USB connection is ok for you, and no other connection options, the IPEVO wins for me, but if you need more connectivity and ok with spending a few more bucks, then the Elmo is the way to go. There's quite a few resellers in the Toronto area. If you can email me your info at [e-mail] , I'll point you to the appropriate reseller.

Will the MX P2 work on any Windows?

The MX P2 will probably work on most Windows platform computers. Here's a compatibility list as a reference: Supported Operating Systems: Windows 7 / 8.1 / 10 | MacOS 10.13 and higher | Chrome OS 66 and higher | Android 5.1.1 and higher Supported Browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge (2020), Brave, Opera, Vivaldi

But why not just buy a good external pc cam

Good question. An external PC cam is great for general video, however the ELMO visual presenter is purpose built for viewing small objects. It also has a full software suite that you can use to write overtop of the live images (which I didn't show in this video). If I was using this in a distance learning application, I would have 1 dedicated PC cam (I have a Logitech Brio which I love) and then a Visual Presenter if I wanted to show a small object. I bought an Elmo L12-F. I downloaded Elmo Interactive Toolbox. I connected the Elmo with an usb 3.0 to usb c to my MacBook Pro 2020 i5 (not M1). The laptop recognized the camera but the display stays black ? What is wrong ?

Hard to say what's wrong with it, however I'd try a few things: 1. Plug the Elmo unit directly into a display and make sure it's working properly 2. Make sure that your Macbook has MacOS 10.13 and higher 3. Ensure that nothing is obstructing the camera lens 4. Restart your computer once you've downloaded the Toolbox and try again Let me know how you make out with this. Thanks!
