When the lookout slid down the tree my thighs cringed then I saw his boots but for an instant I suffered mental anguish.

Good old movie but those guns weren't even produced at that point in time.

This movie and Operation Burma are just remakes of the film Northwest Passage.

It seems to have been a real low budget film. They did want to invest in getting period weapons for the white soldiers. Gary cooper is carrying an 1873 colt army revolver rather than cap and ball colt. The soldiers might have been using trapdoor springfield rifles also from a much later period. The Seminoles were the victims and good guy that were defending themselves.

yep guys there were no carbines nor 6 shooters in the 1840's but a classic nevertheless

Yeah, as a native Floridian who's always been fascinated by the history of the Seminole Wars, I could spot historical inaccuracies in the first few minutes of the film, starting with the appearance of the first Creek Indian and the canoe they used. But what the hell, let's enjoy the movie! I'm sure there will be plenty of historical inaccuracies to come! I just heard flamingos calling like sandhill cranes!

There were a few Patterson 5 shot colts around that were cap and ball guns.
