This seems to be a really good video to help better illustrate what I am learning about in my Chemical Engineering courses. Thanks!

Thank you for this animations. Its very generic and helpful for new learners. Regards from Napa Napa Oil and Gas Refinery - Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

@niSoeB2uty in industrial scale, the columns are of much larger size and used in various fields including the oil industry. They are used for separating crude oil into fuels such as diesel, petrol and other hydrocarbons. In laboratory scale however, the equipment size is quite small. Hope it helps:)

I was an Operator in the F.C.C. Unit in an oil refinery when I was a younger man. Video animation of this nature would have been an excellent addition to our industry training and testing. I've been inside several types of process and storage vessels; this is a very good description of it's layout. Have you duplicated a complete running refinery or unit process?

Hello it's been 9 years😂 I hope you are doing great. I'm a chemical engineering student. 3 semesters left to join the workforce😎 Any advices for me? Hopefully you're not usually wrong right now since you have experience

Superb animation and definitely promotes a clear understanding of column distillation. May I ask whether you have something similar to understand patent still distiilation with analyser and rectifier columns? I would love to see that as i teach bar and beverage in hotel mgmt colleges and patent distillaton is the base of most grain and nuetral spirits.

Is it the top or bottom product they want to extract?.....someone helpme asap
@davidsun670110 жыл бұрын
It is the soluble component IN the bottom gas they want to extract. For example, if you have air containing pretty rich amount of Cl gases, you can not simply release it into the atmosphere. By passing the air through such a column, you can remove nearly all of the dangerous Cl and release the clean air!
@davidsun670110 жыл бұрын
And the distillation column really does more than that. It does multi-phase extraction but that will bring in a lot more boring concepts. But the feed always come from either bottom or middle and always travels up.
