What about distilling toffee and caramel to see if it resembles some of the more common whiskey flavors?
@markdonalds7735 Жыл бұрын
Hmmm most toffee contains dairy so that won’t be pleasant experience to ferment.. also caramel has probably reached its final form and more heat and it’s gonna become coal .
@GDO9099 Жыл бұрын
@@markdonalds7735 coal whiskey.
@alexanderhamilton7753 Жыл бұрын
Toffee might have a few aromatic compounds but it's more or less just carbonised sugar, likely to not have much left after ferment.
@thaddeusk Жыл бұрын
@@markdonalds7735 When making caramel you will be getting the sugar above the boiling point of water. Since the goal of this would be to dissolve the caramel into water, you won't really be cooking the caramel further. Caramel can hit over 300f and not become coal, which is well above the temperature they would be heating it to for this purpose, of course. They did do the Cinnabons, which has dairy in it, so they're used to it :). I think toffee or caramel (which often also has dairy) wouldn't be as bad as that.

gummy bears differs from each other thanks to their aroma more than taste, it's cheaper (and for aroma you don't need much flavouring)
@GutsBatman Жыл бұрын
I think it makes more sense to do the way they did it. How many stores out there gummy bears sorted by flavor? I personally haven't seen it. This is a truer test of the gummy bear liquor than sorted flavors. That's more of a fruit snack thing. Those are far more likely to be sorted by flavor than gummy bears.

Interesting ideas that have potential to distill; not saying they'd be good, but they do have sugar, which I feel like that's the most basic requirement to distill or ferment something: - Tomatoes - Carrots - Calypso Lemonade; either the red or blue one - Spicy peppers; jalapenos, habaneros, whatever, maybe cut it with sugar or white grapes or something neutral-flavored, because I feel like otherwise, it'd just be hot sauce at that point. - Alternatively, just distill hot sauce with a bit of sugar. - Sweet potatoes - Tapioca or boba - Pixie stix or fun-dip - Candy corn. I know candy corn is not many people's favorite, but being honey, vanilla, and butter flavored (yes, that's what candy corn is supposed to taste like), I don't feel like it'd be entirely bad - Some kind of bean, maybe lima beans, red beans, or soybeans. Beans are a common dessert flavor in a lot of places in Asia, it has potential. It might have a bit of an umami taste. Because that's what soy sauce is, fermented soybeans. - Beets? Beets have sugar. Is that something? - Really any soda or soft-drink has potential. Root beer, Moxie, Dr. Pepper, Pibb, or Mountain Dew have a lot of interesting potential; something with more bite than your standard cola or lemon-lime soda. - Any kind of nut. Peanuts, chestnuts, walnuts, pine nuts, pecans, etc. - Maple syrup - Lemons or limes with no added sugar - Warheads candies - Gatorade; preferably one of the classics, red, blue, or orange - Kool-Aid

vodka based tomato sauce(poopoolarr) with the vodka made from tomatoes would be... possible. scarlet runner beans, they will grow almost anywhere, better to boil and eat the underripe diced pods with butter and milk, but that's probably too regional, however, they'd be able to get a huge crop in not much space with little care.

I know a couple years back y’all distilled coffee, albeit in combination with a McDonalds breakfast meal, but I was wondering if it would be possible to make a spirit using Coffee Cherries. Unlike roasted coffee, there should at least be fermentable sugars. I’m not sure how difficult it is to procure coffee cherries, but I think it might make for an interesting end product. And since it’s caffeinated you could make like a Red Eye cocktail with brewed coffee and the spirit.
