@@DoctorGradusInternational what is the difference between this "fractional distillation" column and the "Fractionation" column where several liquid portions are extracted at the same time... fro. Several levels? I want to extract 4 liquids at 4 different sections of the column from 30° to 50° then 50° to 80° then 80 to 100° and the forth will be left behind in the boiler How should i construct my column?

Hi I got a 4" bubble plate the best I'm getting is 91% on the parrot and I have troubles getting the first plate to load properly temperature is good but I can't seem to get higher alcohol volume from it my homemade 1¼" packed column gives me 95%.

It’s looks like to me that the bottom two plates had water condensing in them. Is that correct?

You probably see stage cloudy, is it? Well, there is no caps installed, so spirits with lower amount of alcohol in there that's why it's a bit cloudy but not as much when there is no alcohol. Second stage has caps, so reflux is happening but it's the first working stage and amount of alcohol lower compare to higher stages. When it's almost water, the glass will be much more cloudy - even white like glass kettle when it almost boils. What type of pressure do you crank the column buts up to to keep all plates etc firm.

In this case we are not aiming for the pressure, we just add a bit of reflux to make ABV of alcohol higher compare to the ABV from potstill and safe some flavour and taste of original products. Home pro distillers do care about pressure during the rectification process with SPP packing columns.
