A tiny suggestion, place a piece of white copy paper under the gel plate and it will diffuse the light relection and glare and let us see the colors better.

FWI, those bubbles are from reusing the plastic sheets used in the processing of the plate. They are meant to be tossed. Just store your plate in the clamshell alone or place a sheet of printer paper on each side and put in clamshell.

Thanks for the reply Cheryl. I have totally destroyed a gel plate in the past by storing it with paper on it. It completely strips the gel of any oils and dried and cracked it so it was hard and unusable. They are so expensive that I would never store it in paper or card again. I did have it for years but had put it away with the card and isn't use it for a while. The plastic shell is a good idea though but I had been told to use the plastic that it originally came in? I need to investigate more but thank you for you comment.

@@CarrieKirbyCreates You need to condition them occasionally with mineral oil. The paper isn't the issue.
