For Doug's question, it's hard to choose a favorite, but one of my favorites that's not like, a big, popular, overly insane one is 3966. Back when I first really went down the rabbit hole for the very first time, it was one that really stood out to me. Just the way it was written, the science, all the hints and pieces leading up to the reveal at the end have stuck with me for reasons I can't quite place.

i forget the scp number for these guys but one of my fav SCPs are the Dr. Wondertainment Dragon Snails. theyre so silly! and they get treated like slightly dangerous pets, lol. theyre literally weird slug-like critters that produce fire and come in many colors. They have to be kept in a wet environment with water sprayers or else they light shit on fire but otherwise theyre very friendly.

To answer Doug's question: My favourite SCP is SCP-5000 because of the story behind it, the different factions almost united as one (CI, GOC, Church of the broken God,...) against a common enemy that isn't entirely in the wrong. It is not about the foundation going dark, it's about the foundation willing to do anything necessary for Humanity's salvation, not survival in this case (plus it uses many SCPs and it's an apocalyptic all out war).
